Publisher's Summary

They call this place Magic Blessed Academy, but I sure as hell don’t feel blessed.

I never asked for these powers. I never asked to be yanked away from my perfectly good life and forced to come here.

But the gods have gifted me with magic, and now I have no choice.

If I was smart, I’d keep my head down and play it safe until I can graduate.

And I definitely wouldn’t go up against the three gorgeous, infuriating men who rule the school - Trace, Merrick, and Lachlan.

But when we’re all chosen to compete in the Gods’ challenge, a deadly competition for the honor of meeting the gods themselves, teaming up with my bullies may be my only chance at survival.

Now the only question is: Will we kill each other or screw each other first?

This is the first book in the Magic Blessed Academy series, a university-age reverse harem paranormal romance. It contains cursing and sexual situations, and is intended for listeners over 18.

Gods vs magic users

I didn’t like Aria. I love a badass woman who stands up for herself but Aria was just a bitch. She was cruel for no reason except she was scared of showing feelings because she didn’t want to be a weak girl. I do not like that at all. I also didn’t like the “men”. They were all 20 something year olds that acted like they were 15 and it was obnoxious. If you are going to have an academy book with people outside of high school, then they need to act like they are OUTSIDE of high school.. if this groups of characters were younger I would have been fine with most of what happens.

The storyline itself was good. It’s the only reason this book got 3 stars. I like the whole gods giving them magic idea. I just hated the characters and their immaturity.

Not my cup of tea

I tried but gave up at Chapter 5... almost a reverse harem... I have other books to listen to.

An interesting new world with a compelling mystery

Oh, this is a fun one. I love the character development, backstory, and worldbuilding. This was a #whychoose magical tale with a bit of a Hunger Games vibe tossed in. I really enjoyed and can't wait to explore more of this world in book 2.

Good start to this supernatural academy RH series!

First off, the bullying from the harem members (to the MC) was lighter than other bully books I have read so if you are worried about that, don't be (I feel like it was more enemies to lovers for the first 1/3 of the book and then everything was good haha). Then on to the academy aspect of the book, I would say that it was higher in book 1 than it was in 2 or 3 (which makes sense with the storyline). I did like the academy part, it wasn't too much or wasn't stagnant like I think other academy series can get. In terms of the story I will say the concept wasn't earth-shattering/new, but I thought Eva did a good job of getting the readers invested and love the world she created. I thought the challenge sounded insane and I really enjoyed the story in book 1 was highlighted more than the relationships/romance. It definitely held my attention, I needed to know what happened next (and the scene with Lach was yummy hahah). For the relationships, I liked how the guys are different, with their own quirks and advantages they bring to the table. I think Lach was my favorite in book 1. I liked the MC, but at some points she was a little too garish/much for me. I did still enjoy this book and went on to listen to books 2 and 3 right afterward 😊

The narration I thought was done well. I wish there could have been a male narrator but Stacy did a good job with the different accents, especially Lachlan's accent. I think sometimes she was a little overdone, but that kinda went with the MC's personality I guess haha (for some reason I didnt like her inflections/accent for the MC's friend). I think there should have been more Boston accents if the MC was there for a good portion of her life, but not a lot of people could do a Boston accent that wouldn't get on someone's nerves after awhile haha. Overall, I would listen to Stacey again, that's for sure!

Decent Start to a Series

I Give this Book a 4/5 Star Rating.

Format Read: Audiobook & Ebook.

Cliffhanger(?): Yes! I wonder what the heck is going to happen next!
Heat: 3.5-4/5
Drama: 4/5
Suspense: 3.5/5
Romance: 3.5/5
Relationship Type: Reverse Harem > MFMM

Audio Review: 4/5
The Voice Actor is Female, I was surprised she did some pretty good Male Voices, much better than I was expecting. But her voice is very calm so in some areas of the ‘audio’book, the characters emotions weren’t exuding properly.

No Spoilers.
This is a pretty good series, if I say to much then it just gives the book away!
I’m going to jump into Book 2 Now.

Loved it......

I'd seen this book a few times and always wanted to read it but somehow always forgotten about it later on. I'd finally found it again and decided to go ahead and read it. I'm glad I did. It had me on the edge of my seat and my mind guessing at what would happen next throughout the entire book. I cant wait to get my hands on the next book in this series. Kudos to the author. Loved your books.

Gift of the Gods

Interesting start to this series. Aria was strong but also very closed off to everyone else. The guys were very high school acting. The Games allowed to see more character development and a switch in demeanor.

Entertaining

I enjoyed this but feel like it needed a bit more. Seemed like things were a bit off at times and I’m hoping for some character growth in the next one. But it was intriguing and faced paced. I really enjoyed the narration and look forward to listening to the next one.

Loved it!

Eva Ashwood did a great job writing it. I’ve read her work in the past and have loved it. Gift of the Gods does not disappoint.

It was a very enjoyable listen. You get action, a feisty h, 3 sexy as sin Hs, and some magic. The chemistry between the FMC and her guys is undeniable. Even if it takes them some time to get there.

Stacey Glemboski did a fantastic job narrating. She is one of two of my favorite female narrators. She versatile in her work. She does a fantastic job being able to differentiate between the female characters and male characters. That’s why I live her so much.

Brilliant

I totally loved this book, I’m now going to have to buy the next one as it’s ended on a cliffhanger!
The story is exciting and each character interesting, and of course the “guy’s” are sexy. It’s full of magic and strangeness and I love the fact that the girl isn’t a soft touch, instead she’s a fighter! Literally.
The narration was excellent, I was up all night listening I couldn’t put it down!

A fantastic start to an addictive new series!

Aria's an underground MMA fighter, while fighting off an attacker she discovers she has magic, and is sent to Magic Blessed Acadamy. She comes face to face with a past crush, a bad boy rock star and a motorcycle riding Irish man, who all seem to hate her. Unfortunately they are all chosen to compete in the Gods' Challenge, could a becoming a team help them survive?
I really liked Aria's scrappy attitude, she's been fighting since she was a kid, and she's not about to change now, but she's not so brave with matters of the heart. When she's faced with emotional problems she responds with sarcasm as a defence, she's a tough nut to crack! Aria and the men have a lot of heat, and they're all stubborn, can they get passed their issues and work together to survive and discover whats going on at the acadamy?
The heat between Aria and her men was sizzling and nearly melted my tablet, the suspence of the Challenge was intense, and the underlying mystery of what was being covered up at the acadamy was sinister. I loved this book, and can't wait to start book 2, this is a must-read!

This book. Wow. The cover first drew my attention. The blurb then cemented it. This book was so much fun to listen to. I enjoyed reading about this other world. The narration drew me in and did not let me up until the book was done. I am hooked to this series.
