Publisher's Summary

Real-life cases of gut-wrenching demon encounters that’ll shock the daylights out of you!

With the rampant growth and exploding popularity of the occult and satanism in our societies, the spirit world has received more attention than ever before. As scary and creepy as this idea may be, there is also the belief that demonic apparitions will, on occasion, push through to our world and invade not only our homes, but also our bodies.

Best-selling author Hannah J. Tidy will introduce horrific stories and experiences of demonic encounters had by normal people who’ve dared to play with games such as the Ouija board.

A British family went through a string of horrific tribulations that seemed to continuously escalate from bad to worse.

The story began to unfold on Christmas Eve 2014, with a man who attempted to establish contact with the dead through the board game. After the ritual, he believed evil spirits managed to get through from the other side and take possession of his home. This caused an outburst of paranoia in the man, who then proceeded to commit a despicable act of cruelty against his pet. Prior to this event, the man had never suffered from any mental illness.

He drowned the dog in a bathtub, dismembered its body, and attempted to hide the evidence by shoving the remains into a nearby drain. The neighbors noticed something wrong was going on and approached the house to investigate....

kind of spooky

A great book with several stories relating to Demons, possession, exorcism, and even demonic haunting. The stories in this book are real documented demon encounters. There's even tips on what to look for and tricks in ways to keep frim becoming possessed. Hannah J Tidy has gathered a bunch of great stories and Nathan Hanson does a good job with the narration. At times he started reading a bit fast but it was still great.

Demon Encounters

This is an interesting collection of stories based on real life accounts. Some of the stories are new to me and this book kept me engaged all the way through to the end. Each chapter gives you a story that will have you thinking about the consequences of bad choices and also those made in the name of playing paranormal games especially the Ouija board. While narrator Nathan Hansen keeps the narrative going at a good pace the continued loud intakes of breaths becomes very noticeable and distracting. These stories show you the twists and turns life can take and how you should pay attention to your surroundings and your actions.

This is the second collection of short stories by Hanna Tidy that I've listened to. These stories focus on supposedly real encounters with demons or angry spirits. Obviously I can't speak for the authenticity of the stories, but they were at least entertaining to listen to. The narration is pretty solid. All in all, this is a decent anthology if you are looking for a quick ghost story collection to listen to.

So good, so creepy

This is the first book in the series I've heard. It was so much better than I expected. The stories being based on real events makes it so much creepier. I was blown away when it got to the part about the creepy games. I was listening to this in the car on the way home from work. Once I got home, I sat there in my car for about an hour in my parking spot because I wanted to keep listening. As soon as I finished this audiobook, I bought the other two books in the series.

Fun to listen to

This is a bunch of short stories detailing 'true' paranormal encounters, most of which revolve around ouija boards.

I'm a skeptic in regards to supernatural explanations for things people do or say. Therefore I didn't buy any of the supernatural justifications given in the stories. Even a bunch of people testifying to something strange going on isn't proof anything indeed happened.

However, this is just plain fun to listen to. About half of the urban legends detailed I hadn't heard of before, which was a nice surprise for me. The writing is concise.

The narrator likes to over-enunciate fairly often, which took me out of the stories momentarily a few times. However, his serious delivery lends a bit of gravitas to what is being relayed to us. It's just another part of the charm of this audiobook.
