Publisher's Summary

A small number of cameras have the ability to capture ghosts on film. This gift comes at a steep price; the ghosts are resentful and hungry, and the cameras offer them a rare chance to reach their favourite prey... humans.

Jenine doesn't know any of this when she finds an abandoned Polaroid camera in a lighthouse. At first she assumes the ghostly shapes in the photos are a glitch or a prank - but then the spirits begin to hunt her down, and she's forced into a deadly race to free herself from the camera's curse.

Good story read by a 10 year old

Really enjoyed the story. Thought it was a good concept and at times was downright creepy. However the narrator sounded like a monotone 10 year old. Would have been a lot better if it was someone else that actually gave the characters personalities and had emotion in her voice.

Disappointed

I usually enjoy this author’s books. So I was disappointed by this story. And the performance was abysmal. What a waste of money. Don’t bother

Horrible narrator, did not enjoy story

typically I like short stories and I've enjoyed a couple of Darcy Coats books but this was probably the worst book I've read in years.

Ghost camera ....needed a few more shots of scary

Very disappointed in the book. The story just fell flat for me. I was hoping for a good old fashioned ghost story and this book didn't quite hit the mark . Strange, I know, because there were plenty of ghosts. I simply lost track of the story because it did not hold my interest. Sad for a ghost story. The narrator was not good or exciting at all. Actually quite irritating to me. I've read another book by Darcy Coates and was very happy with the story and the amount of "spookiness" in it. Don't know if I'm willing to waste time or money on another book by the author and certainly not this narrator. This is my humble opinion of the book.

Are her eyes playing games with!

Jenine is attending a wedding and decided to take it upon herself to take some photos of her own for her best friend. She goes into a very old lighthouse to take some photos from different rare angles when she finds an old camera hidden in the lighthouse. When Jenine starts taking photos with the old camera she finds, she starts to notice that there is ghost in the background of each photo that she takes. At first, she thinks these ghost are a malfunction of the camera but when she notices that strange things are starting to happen to her which suggest that the ghost are after her, she and her best friend rush to find help to free her from the camera.

Ugggh

Narrator was so bad it destroyed what may have been an interesting plot/theme since this is a deviation from the haunted house theme

“Adorkable” Terror

A pair of quirky twenty something girls find a ghost camera and their lives quickly turn terrifying. It’s cute, light hearted at times but also surprisingly scary when it wants to be. Another winner from Darcy Coates, only a little slight compared to her more recent work.

Enjoyable short story

Short story but enjoyed the tale. The narrator made the story sound like a young adult book. And it was fast. I had to slow it down a bit. But enjoyed the story.

Splendid

The story was shorter than Ms Coates other novels. However, it was rather good. I loved the "babe" nickname. This helped visualize the characters. The narrator was good but needed a different "tone" for the main character. Being an avid Darcy Coates reader, I'd give this book a true thumbs up. Impatiently awaiting more novels.

Fantasy ghost story

The author did a good job of writing this scary ghost story. I found this book to be a fun read on a lazy afternoon.
