So much great info and easy to follow!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I continue to recommend this book to many of my friends who keep falling into the fad diets from TV. This book helped me get rid of all the noise out there and really focus on what will get me results. I've lost over 40 lbs, but still battle every day with staying on point. This book helped me understand the importance of sleep and stretching. Also how not to get caught up with the latest buzz words out there.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really enjoyed Drill Sergeant discussing how he learned about the importance of sleep. Especially when discussing the negative effects of sleeping with the TV on, or being on your phone up until it's time to go to sleep as it makes your brain think it's daytime. Great information!

Have you listened to any of Beth Kesler’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I heard Beth on Get Me Skinny and she does a great job. Even with just a slight change in her voice, I know which character is speaking at all times and the book flows well.

Any additional comments?

Highly recommend to anyone looking to reduce all the noise in the fitness world and just learn a simple way to get fit.

A Powerful Tool for Reaching Fitness Goals!

If you could sum up Get Me Fit in three words, what would they be?

Motivating. Eye-Opening. Simplifying.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character is Aubrey. She is the voice inside all of us that fails to reach our fitness goals due to confusion and suffering from too much information. There is just too much information out there claiming they have the secret to the new "perfect workout" or "most effective exercises for blasting belly fat" and so on. Aubrey's journey teaches us that this is all just noise and to understand how to be successful at fitness, we must understand the fundamentals of fitness.

This is what author Tony Arreola does so well. As with his first book in this series, "Get Me Skinny", Mr. Arreola distills these overwhelming concepts of fitness to easily digestible and understandable terms. I've read a lot of fitness books and magazines but none of them make it easy and none of them explain the concepts in a way that I felt I could apply them easily to my life.

As Aubrey proceeds on her path to fitness, we are provided with valuable information on three key areas of fitness (stretching, resistance training, and cardio) and the myths surrounding them are debunked.

What does Beth Kesler bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Beth's narration makes Aubrey's journey very real and relate-able. She isn't just dialogue on a page, she is the voice in your head, or your best friend. Her questions and frustration are the same for everyone who has struggled with fitness. Except, here, those questions are answered and the frustrations are minimized because Aubrey does discover the truth and path to fitness. And so did I upon hearing this audio book.

Any additional comments?

It is fitness made simple. It truly is.

These lessons WORK when applied to real life. They work because they are simple, backed by science, researched, and presented in an easy to follow guide.

Not only do they help when applied to fitness but I feel they've helped me change some bad habits in my life as root problems to my fitness issues. There is a definite trickle-down effect from implementing the changes in this book.

The book is like the "One Minute Manager" but for exercise.

If the gym is overwhelming for you, A must read!

Would you consider the audio edition of Get Me Fit to be better than the print version?

Personally, I enjoy listening to books while exercising, so overall I prefer audio editions to print versions.

What other book might you compare Get Me Fit to and why?

I'd definitely say that this is the next step for anyone who has read Get Me Skinny. There really isn't any other book that I have read that explains very complex topics like stretching, functional exercise etc like this book does. I am a fan of analogies to make concepts easy to remember and understand so this book was right up my ally.

What does Beth Kesler bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Interesting enough Beth was able to voice a variety of different characters with just subtle changes in her voice. At no point was I bored or confused about who was speaking. Great Narrator.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

From someone who has lost 65 pounds, there is that time where you can look at yourself in the mirror and on one hand you are proud of the fact that you aren't as big as you once were, but you are still not content with what you see. This book helped me understand that controlling your food is most important, but to go from good to great, you need to understand how to maneuver around in the gym. The gym is a scary place at first. I felt like people were watching me, and judging me. If there was a cool new machine, I wouldn't dare go and use it, in fear of looking stupid. This book helped me to focus on the basic movements of exercise so that I could get the results I wanted without the fear of embarrassment.

Any additional comments?

Great read with tons of necessary and useful information.
