The basics of being a ScrumMaster are fairly straightforward: At face value, all a ScrumMaster needs to do is facilitate the Scrum process and remove impediments. But being a great ScrumMaster, one who truly embodies the principles of servant-leadership and helps move a team to the high performance levels possible with Scrum, is much harder and much more elusive. In this audiobook, Geoff shares a collection of stories and practical guidance, drawn from over 10 years of coaching numerous Scrum teams that will guide you on your path to greatness.

Story
By the man who helped invent the red-hot management process known as "Scrum", Scrum unveils what is wrong with the way we currently do work, and how a simple set of principles, applied in exactly the right sequence, can accelerate productivity and quality as much as 1200 percent. Scrum (which gets its name from the formation in rugby in which the whole team locks its arms to gain control of the ball) is the reason that Amazon can launch a new feature on its website every day.

Story
Scrum is a simple framework that allows us to complete projects, continuously improve, and get an early return on investment. In my experience as a scrum master, team lead, and software engineer, I saw how easy it is for employees of a fast-moving business to put the scrum rules to one side and destroy the very framework that would help make their daily lives easier. Observing how easy it is to forget the fundamental elements of scrum, I have put together this simple checklist that anyone can use on a daily basis.

Story
Software is increasingly being applied to expand the breadth of operational efficiencies in organizations. Today, software is changing every component of the value chain like logistics, operations, and communications. As was with the industrial automation in the 20th century and its impact on the transformation of design, development, and delivery of physical goods, organizations in today’s fast-paced, ever-evolving software market must have a paradigm shift in the way they develop and deliver their software.

More than ever, the effective management of technology is critical for business competitiveness. For decades, technology leaders have struggled to balance agility, reliability, and security. The consequences of failure have never been greater - whether it's the healthcare.gov debacle, cardholder data breaches, or missing the boat with Big Data in the cloud. And yet, high performers using DevOps principles, such as Google, Amazon, and Netflix, are routinely and reliably deploying code into production hundreds, or even thousands, of times per day.

Publisher's Summary
Transitioning into agile project management and digital delivery professional space became a prominent trend across industries over the past five years. Competitive job market is becoming saturated with candidates who do not fully understand how modern recruitment for agile roles works - at least in Australia.
They present their professional resumes filled with mixed messages, absurd qualifications, using language that only sends their job application straight into the bin, missing out on opportunities that otherwise should be within their reach.
Lack of this specific knowledge is reducing your chances of getting hired as a Scrum Master, or for any other job within agile delivery space.
Written primarily for aspiring professionals who want to enter the world of agile project management and digital delivery, but lack the right knowledge or specific insights, this audiobook is an attempt to share my personal findings and summarize research made as part of becoming a professional Scrum Master.
This includes plenty of my subjective yet educated opinions on a number of topics surrounding general theme of presenting yourself as the most appealing agile job candidate, providing advice on how to capitalize on your current professional background, understanding your skill gaps and available options, and pivoting towards a Scrum Master role within agile digital delivery as efficiently as possible.
You will learn about....
- What requirements apply to Scrum Master role candidates these days
- How to deal with Recruiters and get your application through their initial filter
- How different companies see Scrum Master roles and responsibilities
- What are Agile Hybrid roles, and why should it concern Scrum Masters
- How to do your research and other preparation properly
- How to write a good to-the-point Cover Letter, and do you need one at all
- How to reformat your Resume and present it the best possible way
- What interview questions a new Scrum Master can expect, and the best ways to respond

Brilliant
The author has done an excellent effort in breaking down topics to manageable chunks. Furthermore, the author writes with the Australian Agile Market in mind and states it beforehand. However, from my experience, conceptually the ideas arising out of the Agile Delivery space and ground-level manner in which Dmitri tackles the subject can be applied globally, at least to US corporations. Kudos on a book well thought out and written. I look forward to listening to your podcasts.
