Publisher's summary

A determined woman.

Wild and reckless, Lady Georgina Seton has plans for her future. Driven by the pain of past heartbreak, she will do whatever it takes to gain what she wants - and she is determined to control her own destiny. By becoming the best female archer England has ever known, she will safeguard her future without the need to marry.

An ambitious man.

Born the spare, Felton Crauford is hell bent to secure his own future by amassing wealth. The mineral vein he discovered promises to be a boon, but there is one problem - the deposit runs into a neighboring estate. To his fury, the hoyden next door does whatever she can to get in his way, all the while presenting a temptation he cannot ignore.

Felton and Georgina are caught up in an unstoppable yearning that threatens to destroy both of their plans. Worse, they are powerless to stop the white-hot desire blazing between them. Georgina must place her wager: Open her heart once more, or risk losing everything.

Regency Chick Lit with Romantic Element

Regency romance is my absolute favorite romantic subgenre, and I really like it to focus on the couple and the romance. Unfortunately, the couple wasn’t really at the core of this story. Rather, the book feels to be more about the heroine and her desire to win a particular archery contest and secondarily about her now-adult relationships with women whom she met when they were girls together at school. The hero—and therefore, the romance—seemed to be peripheral rather than center stage. They had an interesting dynamic when they were together, but it certainly was not explored enough to feel satisfying, especially in such a short novella like this. The reasons for the heroine wanting to win this male-only archery contest—yes, she has to dress and act as a man—seem to change throughout the book, weakening the entire structure of the story for such a key element of it. Most of the hero’s storyline has little to do with the heroine, as he pursues a mineral rights partnership with the heroine’s father. If you can accept that this is more Regency chick lit with a dollop of romance, you may enjoy this story. But if you're hoping for swoon-worthy moments, character growth, and a deeply engrossing (and coherent!) plot, you may be disappointed.

Georgie

A very sweet recency romance! This is a quick read, only about 4 hours or so, but very enjoyable with well done characters and plot. I believe this to be book # 2 of the series, though not positive. I'd recommend to anyone 16 and up if they are a romantic. 😍

Historical YA

Georgina( Lady Archer's Creed, Book 2) is a historical ya romance that is intriguing as well as unrivaled. I love this series as I read the first three books in this series already and was thrilled to get the chance to listen to it. A beautiful piece of writing that portrays the life of a sassy young heroine & a formidable hero. A realistic character & narative that is life like. A intriguing saga with a plot that will beguile you. I highly entertaining read/listen that I definitely recommend if you love historical romance's.

Narrator Anne Marie Damman performance was fine. However, I don't think she is right for this series as she is american and this series is based in the UK. My preference would be if they used a UK narator with natural accent rather than a forced one from an american. Also, their were noises in the background while recording which can be a bit annoying but doesn't take too much away.

Notable Narration & Predictable Plot

Few narrators are as skilled as Anne Marie Damian. Her ability to voice characters is exceptional. She portrays a broad cast of characters realistically and distinctly. Unfortunately, the story line is beyond weak, lacking depth and complexity. The plot is so predictable that a reader is never surprised.
