Publisher's summary

A catastrophe of biblical proportions, 35,000 years in the making.

The world as we know it is on the verge of destruction.

There is no escape...or is there?

The discovery and excavation of a 35,000 year old city hidden deep within the Transantarctic Mountains releases a pandemic across the globe. Within a few weeks, five million are dead and another 10 million are about to die. Billions more are certain to die within weeks.

But what kind of disease only affects members of a certain ethnic group?

Some world leaders are convinced this is a genetic bioweapon, developed and deployed against them for the sole purpose of ethnic cleansing. They convince their followers that enemy governments are behind this and join forces to go to war. The human race stands on the brink of extinction.

The world has slipped into economic and political chaos, stock markets have crashed and shut down, and lawlessness is on the rise. Radical political and ethnic solutions are considered and implemented. Within a matter of days, the world will descend into open warfare, more than half of the entire world population will be annihilated on the battlefield of Armageddon. Nuclear warheads and long range missiles have been aimed, military forces have been mobilized...ready to march.

There are those who want this to happen.

Only a handful of people may be able to stop this catastrophe. Will they be able to do it? Will they be allowed to do it? Do they have enough time?

Does anyone besides Sarah Rossler remember the dire warning of the 10th Cycle; that our cycle's final, civilization-ending catastrophe could be triggered by war?

Genetic Bullets is a full-length novel, a stimulating medical thriller about genetic engineering human persistence and resolution in the face of destruction. This adventure is the sequel to Ninth Cycle Antarctica and takes listeners back into the mysteries of the Rossler Foundation.

What a concept...

A disease that kills everyone who gets sick is something that concerns everyone. To have one that only kills people with one genetic background spells a different type of disaster. I haven't read a book like this before and it's both horrifying and utterly captivating.

Beautifully written the stress and distress felt by the characters comes through loud and clear. A fantastic story that should not be missed.

The narration is good but not great. A times it's hard to tell who is talking and there are mistakes that aren't edited out, while these were all small there were a couple dozen of them. The deliver did a good job of conveying emotion and the tension in the book.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Genetic Bullets

I liked the storyline.I wish some archeology was done in this book BUT a flu with genetic markers is ok.Again, the narration leaves a lot to be desired.Mr Gensburger is just not a great narrator. He repeats lines, coughs,THEN repeats lines,I just want to pull the story out of him.“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”

Great

The story is well written. It is easy to read and understand. The story keeps in line with previous villains in other books of the series.

Slow moving

Took too long to hook me. Couldn't finish the book.
Narrator too worried about diction, needed more enthusiasm.

Worse narration I have ever heard!

Genetic Bullets
A Rossler Foundation Mystery, Book 3
By: JC Ryan
Narrated by: William Andre Gensburger
Series: Rossler Foundation Mystery Thrillers, Book 3
This is an AUDIBLE book I requested and the review is voluntary.
This is a difficult book to review. I think the book might be pretty good but it was soooo difficult to listen to and concentrate on due to the extremely poor narration. There was constant coughing, throat clearing and other noises. At one point the narrator coughs, and repeats the whole sentence. It was just so irritating to listen to the whole way through. The voices, inflections, and timing was off also. I wanted to reach through the tablet and say, "Let me do it!".
This book had so many good reviews and the idea sounded great, I had even bought the book, but when the chance came for a free audible book came, I thought wow, why not?
Just to be fair to the author, I will READ this book at some time and review it separately from the audible book. Plus this is book 3, it might make a difference to read books 1 and 2 first. I don't know. I really, really wanted to enjoy this book. It was my kind of book.
I will watch from now on, I don't want to hear this narrator again, ever! Sorry!

not a fan

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Unfortunately, I do not care for this book. It possibly would have been better with a different narrator. There were weird random glitches, like throat clearing, throughout the book. As for the story, it came across as very dry and flat.
