Publisher's Summary

Diagnoses in psychology often don’t take into consideration the underlying structural abnormalities of the person’s brain. For example, we label people with ADHD, Schizophrenia, psychopathy, Korsakoff’s, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, and Asperger’s Syndrome. Did you know that these psychological diagnoses often have something in common? The people diagnosed with these disorders often have structural differences in the Corpus Callosum (the white matter) in the brain.

The white matter is the brain’s "superhighway". The brain sends signals back and forth. If the brain gets really good at sending the same kind of signal (myelination), then the signal travels 100 times faster than it would normally travel.

As a child, if the gaslighter saw lying as a good coping mechanism to his or her inability to learn on his or her feet under stress, the gaslighter would practice the lying over and over. Omg don’t buy this book

This is horrendous! It starts off by explaining physiological differences in the brains of people with co-occurring disorders then it takes a hard left into topics of genocide. Not sure how the author makes this connection in. Book about gaslighting but it’s a hard no for me.

Excellent Book, Fantastic Resource

This was truly an excellent book to help someone understand the immense complexities that drive pathological lying and gas lighting behavior. A quick yet compact with information book, its style and smooth narration was perfect for making a challenging topic easier to understand.
