Publisher's summary

"This is the Arena, and here we live to die."

These are the words carved into a holding cell where genetically-altered gladiators, the winged humans called Galdoni, are trained to fight. Kale, rescued by three high school students and nursed back from the brink of death, is given the chance to experience life as a human. When the other Galdoni are threatened, he has to use what he learned in the world outside the Academy to face the Arena and return to the human girl he loves.

Dark and exciting, Galdoni pushes the boundaries of love in a world of violence.

Inventive, Creative, Well Done

Ok,I have to admit I'm hooked on a new series. Kale, Bree and the rest are like another side to the James Patterson series "Maximum Ride," with a taste of "Gladiator" and bits of Scripture. The question of whether animals are going to be with the Redeemed in Heaven, which will be the Earth remade (Isaiah 66:22 and Rev21) into the Garden of Eden minus the sin is clearly answered in Romans 8:19-23...the Creatures were not willingly steeped into a sinful world, they did not "choose" corruption like Adam and Eve. The Creatures, in fact the whole of Creation will be redeemed when the Earth is, otherwise how would Isaiah65:25 ever be fulfilled? The Galdoni are not Nephilim/Angel-Human hybrids, but instead are human scientific made hybrids. They learn that they can "choose" in an amazing way. There's romance, action, heroism and ugliness all displayed in an inventive, creative way that is very well done. Highly recommended!!

review

Loved the book, I still feel reading it I’d get more out of it, however this one with the way he read it it did kind of draw u inn well give me a couple laughs I think more then one person should read parts same person per person in the story with the voice changes he does or just have more like this reader and put character into it like it was done here love this audio reader

Winged messenger

This book was so good. I enjoyed the characters, romance and action. The narrator did a great job too.

A Worthwhile Story

Would you consider the audio edition of Galdoni to be better than the print version?

In some ways, definitely. Mr. Dumbreski does a fantastic job with voices and it's an entertaining listen, though I preferred reading along because I was less liable to miss things that way. Even if it's not necessarily better the audio is a benefit to the book.

What did you like best about this story?

Worldbuilding. It was the first book in the series, so while the story was fleshing everything out, there was a good deal of worldbuilding and I loved what we got to learn about the treatment of the Galdoni and Galdoni culture.

What does Christopher Dumbreski bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He makes the various characters distinct from each other from the get-go.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

If I actually watched movies, I'd probably be able to come up with one. I'm honestly not sure.
