Bible and Wehrlen - the gift that keeps giving!

Jake Bible serves up another dose of Galactic bedlam in this latest offering.

Jafla Base is rife with crime, prostitution, gambling and the Orb games. In this tale we follow the exploits of Galactic Vice Lieutenant Angie McDade as she navigates the crime syndicates and corruption within her own division.

Along the way we encounter some familiar faces from the Roak adventures and an abundance of new and continually believable characters.

The action, twists, and turns are a steady feast and Andrew Wehrlen draws us along at a fair clip with his ability to separate the individuals through his narration and maintain the right pace.

My thanks to the author/narrator for providing me a copy of this book, free of charge, in return for an unbiased review.

Galactic Vice

I was surprised about how much I liked this book. It's interesting the various species that the author comes up with. Another enjoyable performance from the narrator. I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.

What a wild ride!

Jake Bible and Andrew Wehrlen are the new dynamic duo! This listen was exceptional. The story was captivating. I started it and could not stop until the very end.

The world and its inhabitants, all of them hating on humans and Earth, was fun and intriguing and incredibly special.

Main characters came and went, the guilty was and then was not, and the universe kept on spinning.

With that ending, there has to be a book two. There had better be a book two. Please let there be a book two.

Sci-fi Vice Squad, Action, Adventure

Galactic Vice
A Jafla Base Vice Squad Novel
By: Jake Bible
Narrated by: Andrew B. Wehrlen
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
This book has lots of mini plots and turns going on that kept this reader on her toes. I love all the action, the imagination, the ingenious characters, and the wonderful world building. His books always come with great sci-fi, suspense, adventure, and loads of satisfaction.
The narrator was wonderful and performed the voices so well I would have thought there was multiple actors. Well done!

Very entertaining listen!

Great sci-fi with an excellent story and intriguing characters. Fantastic narrator as well, he brought the characters to life by using different accents and tone. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

A universe that rivals Star Wars but gets much grittier

Jake Bible has created a sci-fi universe that rivals that of Star Wars. The difference being that this universe is darker and dirtier than anything Star Wars ever three out there including its boba feet bounty hunter series. Roak and his ilk are amazing. This story is a spinoff of a story arc. This whole story centers around a space station that was featured in another story. The characters are dark dirty. Easy to love easy to hate and absolutely amazing. The story is rife with twists and amazing surprises. Get ready to get down and dirty with a station and its inhabitants in this very cool story. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Took two listens, but worth it

To put it simply, Jake Bible is an incredibly talented entertainer. He could probably find away to make watching paint dry seem like the most invigorating event in the galaxy. The guy knows how to write a thriller, and this book is further proof of that. The only downside of this book is deciphering who is who and which species is which especially if you're walking in a loud section of the city (my fault, not the authors). I had to listen to it a second time to piece everything together as a result.

I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Great book!

Part Dick Tracy, part Space Opera. All good! Loved it. The story is fast-paced and fun. The narration was superb, but with Andrew Wehrlen, that was not a surprise. All in all, well worth the time.

OK

Any additional comments?

I have not read/listened to anything by this author but I liked the description so I thougt I will give it ago.

The narrator I liked, he voiced the characters out and gave them their own personality.

The story on the other hand I have mixed feeling about. I found it slow going at times and the aliens acted too humanoid. They got depressed, drank, used bad language, had a police force that acted like cops we see in movies, etc.
I would have liked more differences between us and them. This was unfortunate because as I was listening to the audiobook, I imagined the characters to be human then alien, except for one/two due to the way they acted.

This book has some moderate violence and profanity.

Great Read if still early into the series

Great read although not as good as some of his other works such as Roarke , same universe but quite a few good bits of character involvement and world building.
Do wish JB would get out of the "said" usuage as this comes across more prominently so in the audio as opposed to the ebook.
This does work better as an audio however so excellent narration from ABW as per normal.
This is the first of the new series so i will keep my eyes and ears peeled before giving my final judgement but there is potential here.
This is my own opinion as i picked this up as a freebie by my own decision.

Plans change and life is chaos.

A non responsive barge brought into dock. Inside the bodies of men, women, children, all but one dead for several weeks. Then everything explodes...
Sex trafficking. A case for undercover agents of the Galactic Vice Squad, Sent to Jappla Base. A typically fast paced Make Bible story where plot and action moves so quickly that a moment's distraction and the ?listener is !let in the twists, turns, shocks and betrayals of the book. Almost non stop action of various assorted types, numerous alien types yet still well developed characters.
Great dialogue, too: there's humour in the blood and conspiracies.

Narrator Andrew Werhlen matches the pace with his reading, voices the protagonists well and his wry, almost throw away, delivery catches the highly atmospheric feel of the text.
This really is a book hard to stop reading. Absolutely packed with mental pictures and characters to both love and dislike (simultaneously), this is a must hear audio presentation. It quite blew this listener away. A big thank you to the rights holder for freely victim g me with a copy gaLactic Vice, at my request, via Audiobook Boom. Great story. Hope there will be another soon.

Great Sci-Fi Crime Thriller

If you have read/listened to any of the Roak series by Jake Bible then you will like this story. The setting is reminiscent of the seedy underworld of Star Wars but not too similar.

The story had me guessing (Wrongly) all the way through with some surprising twists near the end.

As usual the narrator does a great job with both sexes without any sounding silly as can be the case with some audiobooks.

Overall I really enjoyed this and I will be looking out for the next in the series

Thriller meets science fiction. Blended perfectly.

This book was a great little surprise to me, I wasnt expecting it to be quite as good as it was. The story is intricate and provides interesting plots and points throughout the story.

I particularly enjoyed the blend of thriller and science fiction, this was quite refreshing and added a little dimension to the story.
The characters are well presented and develop at differing rates giving an organic feel to the story.

The narration is another stellar performance from Andrew B Wehrlen. Distinctive characters with emotion and gravitas as required for the story to become immersive.

A great thriller set on an alien world. Provided a good listen with an above average performance. Worth spending a little time to listen and enjoy this good story.
