Publisher's Summary

The best guide to the GAPS diet.

When our gut is killing us, we need to understand what is related to it. Personality disorders and anxiety influence a person's digestion. Nutrition matters, and to detoxify and get involved in eating clean, you need to know what you're doing. Just see it this way: What would you give to feel better and to stop the diseases from a leaky gut, arthritis, or eczema? In this book, you will learn, among others:

  • The connection between our gut, our immune system, and learning disabilities
  • Recipes and formulas of foods to take or avoid
  • The difference between a GAPS intro diet and the full diet
  • How to create an effective meal plan based on the GAPS diet
  • Which supplements, nutrients, and detoxifying substances to use
  • Case studies concerning traveling or pregnancies and the relationships to GAPS
  • And much more!

Curious yet? Then don't wait and start listening so you don't have to remain in the dark. I will see you in the first chapter!

Great recipes for gaps dieters

The gaps diet is controversial but I have seen enough positive changes with it that I am a believer. This cookbook has all kinds of great recipes for gaps that I had not seen before. As far as gaps cookbooks go this one is excellent and I recommend it to those who think they may be able to benefit from the gaps diet.

Don't waste your money!!

The content does not do well in audiobook, and the narrator is horrible. Save your money.

Bad

Awful quality! I Could hardly stand all the mispronunciation-truly annoying. I’m looking into returning it.

Pretty poor audio quality

What did you like best about GAPS Diet? What did you like least?

Definitely a succinct summary of The GAPS Diet. Unfortunately, it is not clear in places, the audio is poor. Also, it really needs a pdf companion to be of any use.

How could the performance have been better?

The audio was extremely variable, fine quality in some places, pretty inaudible in others

Any additional comments?

An accompanying pdf w/ the food lists, recipes and other info is almost mandatory. I would not bother with this book unless you are really just looking for a summary.

Could you say that again?

The reader was inaudible at times, the recording repeated itself at least twice and skipped a piece too. This was frustrating because the information itself is very useful.

Great recipes.

I love the simplicity of this book because it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the GAPS way of living. Recipes are easy to follow. I have made the delicious mayonnaise and look forward to testing John Cook's other great recipes!

Delicious!

Loved the recipes! I learnt things I didn't even know could affect my stomach and so much more on eating the right food to fix my stomach issues. My family's favorite recipe was the Chicken Stew, the kids didn't even realize it was healthy - thumbs up!!

Very helpful.

I think I'm going to be referring to this book a lot during my upcoming GAPS journey, I've listened all the way through it now and found it informative, accurate and the recipes for all the basics you need for GAPS are there. Thank you to the author!
