Publisher's summary

Carter, Claire and Gavin have formed the perfect little family. Their friends are getting married and everyone is growing up, maturing and ready to face the future. Or are they? From bachelorette party hell, porn addictions, dinner roll baseball and botched wedding proposals to finding out everyone's extended family is chock full of crazy, Carter and Claire begin to question the strength of the ties that bind them. Unfortunately, these ties have nothing to do with fuzzy handcuffs and everything to do with the mounting differences between them. Will their friends make a mess of things with their inappropriate comments and need to know everything, or will they convince the couple that happily-ever-after sometimes really can start with beer pong?

Warning: Contains sex, drugs, and rock n roll. Wait, no. Just sex and drugs. And booze and filthy language. Do not listen if you have no sense of humor.

Crude and Silly Fun

I enjoyed the outrageous characters, behavior and language of this series. It is light entertainment and only for those who aren't offended by the language. I was frustrated by the reader's inability to differentiate between male and female characters which is particularly problematic as the chapters alternate from the point of view of a male and a female character, and it is impossible to tell who is talking by tone of voice alone.

Equally as hilarious at the first book!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes - I would recommend it to any human who likes laughter and happiness.

What other book might you compare Futures and Frosting to and why?

Any funny romances - I hate comparing!

Would you listen to another book narrated by Romy Nordlinger?

Not if I could help it. Sorry!

If you could rename Futures and Frosting, what would you call it?

I wouldn't - it's a perfect title for this book.

Any additional comments?

Great follow up to Seduction and Snacks - if you love these characters, you will love this book.

Good

This was not as funny as the first one but it was still funny especially the sex store scene. I love that Carter and Claire got married and had another baby. I can't wait to continue this series.

Review: Futures and Frosting, by Tara Sivec

It’s been quite awhile since I read Tara Sivec’s first Chocolate Lover’s book, Seduction and Snacks . Because of this, I was happily surprised with how easily I fell back into the story that began in book one.

One of the best things this book and series has going for it are the characters and the dialogue they have. Sivec has spared no one from the obnoxious, outrageous, and flat-out insane antics of Clare and her friends. Gavin, her son, will have most readers either appalled or in tears (maybe both) whenever he happens into a scene…which is often.

I feel that I enjoyed this book even more than the first for a few reasons. First, I think it helps that a lot of the characters, their relationships, etc…it was all already established. The comedy and story in general were allowed to play out and I was already familiar with things. I also feel that there was a better balance between the story and the sex scenes (often hilarious ones) in this one. The series can’t go on without them, but in Seduction and Snacks I felt there were too many or a few were out-of-place, enough to get in the way of my enjoyment of the story. In Futures and Frosting, I think the balance was found.

I don’t really have any complaints about this book. If I were to point out something for readers to beware of, it’d be going from one chapter to the next. Depending on the chapter, the point of view will be Claire’s or Carter’s. This threw me off often early in book one. Now in book two, I was ready for it, but it wasn’t always easy to figure out who for was talking for a few paragraphs. Most of the time it wasn’t too awkward though. Putting the character’s name under the chapter title would have fixed up any confusions. Maybe book three will utilize that option. And I WILL be jumping into book three much faster than I did from one to two.

She is ok...but I dont like her male voices...they need work...but the emotion and cmedic delivery is perfection!

If you could take any character from Futures and Frosting out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Gavin...lol I adore that kid!

Continuation of Claire and Carter....and Liz and Jim tie the knot....Jenny and Drew decide to make a go of it!

This was hilarious all the way through...The Limo Bus, The Barbies, The Mothers....and the kids!!!

Claire and Carter had some insecurities and Carter kept on messing up his planned proposal...HE WENT TO JARED'S!!! Lol Claire is all freaked out that he non longer wants her...and the whole crew is all over the place....so so so so funny!!!
