I LOVE This Series

I am always on the look out for new paranormal romance books and I love when a I find a series with a good story line and good characters that will keep me engaged for a while, like Lords of the Underworld or Black Dagger Brotherhood. I do not think that this series is as good as either of those, but I do think it is really good and worth listening to more then once. There are some scenes in this books and in the series that may be too much for some readers. But otherwise they are quick, fun reads that I recommend.

I read this write after reading Grim, both characters appear gruff but inside are teddy bears.

Great twists and turns. Fury was a little unpredictable but still fun.

Addicting but meh

I liked the world building even if it isn't terribly unique. The writing of the main couple's interactions frequently annoyed me. They couldn't seem to find a balance between overly male dominating and female assertiveness. I know that's the main struggle of the book, but felt it wasn't smoothly written. That said, I'm seriously considering buying the next book

The concept was a new one for me. Genetically altered people with animal skills. It kept me interested.

Fury. You can feel every emotion that he feels.

It was heart wrenching to here that the New Species were treated so horrifically since birth.

Reader Did Good, Story Awesome

The story was very captivating. The reader did her best and I appreciate her different voices for the female. I had to visualize the male voices. Still the story was great.

What more could anyone want in a story? Hot alpha male lead, strong heroin, a fight against bad guys, he saves her, she saves him, and there is some major hotness while it all happens. Thank you Laurann Dohner for my favorite new series, this should keep me out of trouble for a while!

A pharmaceutical company decided many years ago that they needed a new way to test drugs, they needed a new species, so they created them. They spliced together human genes with canine, feline, primates...you name it and they spliced. They made an entire race of people and then they chained them up and experimented on them their entire lives all in secret and with government funding.

Ellie is just an ordinary nurse who is appalled that people are being treated like animals, worse than animals. They are being forced to fight, to have sex, and all the while they are tested on like lab rats, but these are PEOPLE! She gathers enough information at the facility and gets it to the outside, but she had to betray the one person in the facility that she cared about in order to rescue the rest of his people, she just hopes he can forgive her one day.

Fury is the second in command of the New Species, he is making a home for his people away from the prying eyes of the humans, no human can ever be trusted, he trusted one...and she betrayed him. While attending a meeting the new dorm mother for the women's dorm is introduced...it's HER...the woman he hates, and the woman he wants more than his next breath, now he just has to figure out if he is going to kill her, or mate with her.

This world was awesome! These characters are great, even the secondary characters had me cracking up. I freaking adored this world and am SOOOO happy I found it. Just download book 1, you won't be disappointed.

I truly enjoyed this book, the characters were awesome and so damn enjoyable. I can't wait to read Slade, Justice, and Tiger.
