When Sylvester, aka Psycho Cat, an animal with a sixth sense, discovers a human skeleton inside a trunk in the attic of one of her rental units, landlady and amateur sleuth Beth must return from wintering in Arizona.

After only a few days, the investigators are told to put the case on hold. Why?

Tracking down the tenants from that time and uncovering evidence won’t be easy, but Beth, for everyone’s sake, vows to identify both the victim and the perpetrator.

Fun, humorous situations compete with the suspense as Beth searches back and forth, in time to reveal the murderous truth.

This is the first book in the series for me, but the second in the series. The characters are interesting, especially Psycho the Cat. I have a cat named Psycho, too, and I’m glad my Psycho hasn’t found any dead bodies. The mystery is full of twists and turns to keep the reader guessing.

I listen to the audio version of the book. The narrator does a great job of bringing the book to life. She gives each character his/her own personality.

All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way have I been influenced by anyone.

Furtive Investigation is not the first in the Psycho Cat and the Landlady Mysteries but is the first that I have listened to/read. I thoroughly enjoyed the narrator and the story.

Even though I figured out the who done it and why earlier I liked how the chapters swapped from present to seven years earlier giving us insight into the story and the players.

I found these entertaining that I have added the three other books in this series to my To-Be -Read list.
