What do you do when the guy you’ve loved since you were 14 is sent to the most dangerous prison in Solaria for saving your life? Okay, so maybe he doesn’t love me back. And maybe getting sent down would seem insane to some, but I’m Rosalie Oscura, champion underground cage-fighter and alpha werewolf from the infamous Oscura Clan. My family wrote the book on criminal organizations, and I’ll be ruling this place by the time the next moon rises. Then I just need to get to work on busting us the hell out of here.

I run with my own pack - my four demon wolves and the two friends I would kill to protect. We might be the rejected shifters of the Vegas supernaturals, different and unwanted, but our pack is strong. Feared. Think of us as your local supernatural vigilantes. With my demon wolves secretly watching our backs, we’re unstoppable. Until the night the first rune appears on the streets. Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Publisher's Summary
Piper Jones can't catch a break. After a lifetime of animosity and indifference from the supernatural community, she thought she'd finally found a home with the vampire king's enforcers. Then the dark and mysterious Merc walks into her life, and it takes a disastrous turn for the worse.
Now under attack by enemies both known and unknown, Piper has little choice but to flee her refuge - and start over in a place few vampires ever go. Rural Alaska seemed to fit the bill, except for Knox and his crew of werewolves. The pack shares a connection with Piper that few of them can explain, and none of them can escape. With time running out for answers, Piper must fight the demons of her past to ensure her future - or die trying.

Sorry, I so wanted to like this
So, I am always up for a good story and romance but seriously . . . This had no continued plot. How can your main character disregard her major romance with no serious explanation to move on to a new “life long mate” (not even reflecting on the “event”).
I just kept thinking - where is this going?

This is so BAD, it was funny
Not sure how this godawful book got published. It made no sense most of the time, terrible writing. And the worst/funniest sex scene i’ve ever read. As for the narrator, she read too fast, and the delivery was choppy. If this was a movie (B or a C), Mystery Science Theatre would have had a field day with the dialog. One of my favorite lines was! “I was unconscious for two weeks, how could I not know this? Duh! Returning it now!!

Confusing on Ch10 no rhyme or reason to the story
I'm not even sure what this book is supposed to be about. I just know Piper is weak and whinny.

Excellent Series
I have been a huge fan of Amber's, ever since I delved into the Caged world... the Force of Nature series does not disappoint. When I found out the first book was on Audible, I had to purchase it. I am an Audible subscriber and will be holding my credits for the remaining books in this series. I love Piper, she is strong, much stronger than those in her world have lead her to believe. I can't wait to listen to the rest of her story and imagine her powers unfolding.

From the Ashes
I really enjoyed the second half of From the Ashes and am glad I kept reading. There was so much mystery around what Piper actually was that the first half was almost uncomfortable for me to listen to, especially once the complication of Merc's mood swings was added. I loved all the characters and how they grew throughout the story, though. Jase and Dean are phenomenal. There are still a lot of unanswered questions I'm hoping will be answered in the next book.

Amazing book!
This is a story where things seem to be going too well to early, and by well, I mean not an absolute complete shit show 😁. You know it is going to hit the fan, and hit the fan it does. But this provides the opportunity for Piper to begin her road to discovery about herself.
Piper has had a hard life, she was orphaned at a young age and never fit in anywhere going up. She then discovered the supernatural world, hoping that is where she fit in, but as she is unable to access whatever magic she has, she still has no true place. This first book is the start of Piper discovering who she is and where she belongs.
I loved this book, and I am so excited to see where Piper’s story goes next.
I have been splitting reading and listening to the audiobook and Vanessa Moyen does a wonderful job with bringing the book alive.

could have been better
I overall liked it. but there were a lot of holes that could have been fixed with a few sentences. 1, she didn't even bat an eye about merc after leaving the mansion. she doesn't even mention him or being sad about losing him etc. 2, why does everyone want to kill her again? she doesn't even question why it matters to the warlocks so much to track her and kill her. I thought maybe it was because they knew she was crazy powerful but nothing like that even gets mentioned. 3, I get having a love triangle but she went from having a full on bond with merc to being in love with Knox in like 3 weeks.

it was an okay read
if you like a super whiney, annoying, selfish heroin whome doesnt do anything other than play the victim, then this book is for you.
if you want to read about love literally at first sight between 2 "alpha males" towards this MC (whome she sleeps with both males despite being mated to the first one)
all in all i would be hard pressed to purchase the second book. there was way to much going on, no closure for a lot of information and little to no back story for some pretty impoetant parts (like why MC is an orphan, why no one stepped up to help a child, wrc. too frustrating for me.

***She a force of nature alright***
Omg i loved this book so much, its set in a furious pace and none stop action and thrills that kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Piper she is amazing and kind, funny passionate and end up to be a forced of nature to be reckon with. Vanessa Moyen I'm so glad you did the narrative because you are perfect as Piper and awesome job as the other characters.
