Publisher's Summary

The world has fallen, but life goes on…

In the late 2020s and early 30s, corporations managed to render the major governments of the world obsolete. The big corporations owned most of the territories as well as the majority of the world’s wealth. While many of the old traditions were still observed in various parts of the world, the true power was with the corporations.

In the late 30s, what would be known as the Corporate Wars began as larger companies initiated hostile takeovers in a whole new fashion. Employees, armed with corporate weapons, warred for dominance. It was a bloody time, and many small corporations were destroyed, as were a lot of civilians in the wrong place at the wrong time…and those who’d been buying the wrong products.

On May 1st, 2067, it all ended in nuclear fire.

Sixteen outstanding authors have come to this Fallen World with stories that take place from the islands off the coast of Washington to the plains of central Europe; from the swamps of Florida to the streets of Philadelphia. These stories document the fall and introduce you to people who might just drag civilization back from the ashes.

With stories by Chris Kennedy, Brisco Woods, Jamie Ibson, David Carrico, Kevin Steverson, Philip S. Bolger, Joseph Capdepon II, Alex Rath, David Alan Jones, Derek Shupert, Ian J.Malone, Jan Kotouc, Jon R. Osborne, Mark Wandrey, Marisa Wolf and Christopher Woods.

Incomplete stories

Enjoyed the first and second books. Having several authors and incomplete stories was very disappointing and irritating. Now I'm scared to listen to the rest of the series.

rather disappointing

if it was not for the fact that the first two books in this series were included with my subscription, I would have returned this one, rather than pay for it. I enjoy Christopher Woods's writing, but many of the short stories were pretty awful. it was almost as though some community college creative writing class had a contest and these were the winners. while a few weren't as bad, if some of these were considered the ones worthy of publication, I feel great pity for the poor slob who had to read through the ones that didn't make the cut!

In this fallen world!!!

In this fallen world, in this fallen world, in this fallen world, in this fallen world, in this fallen world, in this fallen world, in this fallen world, in this fallen world, in this fallen world, in this fallen world, in this fallen world,.
Listen to the book or the whole series and you’ll understand what I mean.

Wow This Got Badddd Quick

This is a collection of short stories from different writers some still about our hero, and others the range of whatever. They go back and forth in time, place, circumstance, and ugh. To make it worse they don’t fit together with the overall story. Each one gets worse and you keep looking at how many hours you still have to suffer through. I gave up with over seven hours left. It's Bad.

I would return this book for a refund but the first two were free and I enjoyed them so this is my payment to the writer.

Swing and a miss

Loved the first 2 so much I was ready to sell some property and buy the whole set. Ended up skipping through some stories entirely. I’ll try the next volume before I give up. Chris woods is on point. Maybe that’s why they saved his story until last...

Skip this one

Seriously, skip this one. I've listened to the whole series and you won't miss a thing here. It doesn't add anything significant or minute and the anthologies were pretty boring except MAYBE the last one. Save your credit.

Side note, you don't need to read this series in order.

Not my normal genre but I like it

As long as you ignore the trite “in the fallen world” and similar inserts, this whole series is ridiculously good. Like, really good. And I have never liked post-apocalyptic genre books before.

Good, but different

While the voice acting is great and stories are good. they are as short stories. They bring viewpoints from around the world.

But with them being short stories; they fail to push the narrative, as would be expected of a book marked as the 3rd in a series.

As far as I can tell this book is inconsequential to the overall narrative. But tries to help build the fallen world universe.

What it does do and does well, is to bring the personas from the imprinters, to the forefront and help give them personalities.

greedy

loved it. bunch of small stories to set us up for the fallen world. but from here out they want a credit for 7 hour books.... shame. put 2 or 3 together and don't be so bloody greedy so I can continue the story.
