Visionary Teachings to Explore the Landscape of the Heart

Beloved poet and philosopher John O'Donohue created a remarkable body of work on the subjects of spirituality and Celtic mysticism. His gift was evoking hope, solace, and clarity—offering ancient wisdom that could provide desperately needed nourishment for the spiritual hunger experienced in our modern world.

With this dynamic and engaging recording, you have the opportunity to listen with O'Donohue as he shares stories and experiences from Ireland that gave rise to his body of writing—and inspired his acclaimed book Anam Cara. You’ll be enveloped into an intimate experience where you’ll feel like you’re sitting one-on-one with John as he shares his ideas and insights about:

• The mystery of friendship

• The brightness within solitude

• Creativity and imagination

• Aging as the art of inner harvesting

• Death as eternal homecoming

Love it!

John is the best, most soothing, thought provoking author. It’s a shame that he passed away so young.

Titled Perfectly

There is so much love coming from John O’Donohue’s words and voice. There is nothing close to a narration of any book I have listened to in terms of guidance and meaning. Listening was being in the presence of a “Soul Friend,” most definitely. With greatest thanks from my heart❤️

A Wonderful Audible Release

I don’t typically leave reviews, book or otherwise, although I do appreciate those who do write them as I almost always search though them to see others opinions. I feel that it would be a great injustice to John O’Donohue, a wonderful author/philosopher, and this particular release to not point out a few pertinent details. I won’t be redundant by going into details about the audiobook itself as there is a description provided with the listing. What I would draw attention to is that this audiobook/talks were originally released by Sounds True on cassette in 1996 under the title “Anam Cara: Wisdom From The Celtic World,” given by the author himself (so if you were looking for that one, you’ve found it). There is another listing for John’s book “Anam Cara (Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Edition): A Book of Celtic Wisdom” with an audio (Audible) option available which is narrated by John’s brother Pat O'Donohue. John O’Donohue died in 2008 so I suppose that it was necessary for someone to narrate the actual book, and based on the audio sample, it seems that Pat O’Donohue does a fine job. However, my point is that I wholeheartedly recommend listening to this Audible release of John O’Donohue’s original talks to truly appreciate and absorb the inspiration, insights, and wisdom of this truly amazing person. I would of course recommend reading (or listening) any and all of John’s books, but there is nothing like listening to the thoughtfulness, enthusiasm, and lyrical commentary from the author himself. I in no way wish to diminish the narration of John’s original book by Pat O’Donohue, I just wouldn’t want people who were interested in this topic or author to miss out on hearing John O’Donohue himself.

B Soule

John O’Donohue is brilliant. He writes & speaks so poignantly & compassionately about the soul, and he is so dedicated to his work. I am Celtic, so I truly enjoy hearing about Ireland. I love that how he incorporates poetry and lastly, he has a beautiful voice.
