Very helpful audio book!

I think the French phrasebook is a very useful tool. I’ve always wanted to build more on the French I learned in high school and this book helped me do just that. I appreciate how they start with very practical phrases like how to greet people, basic manners, and how to admit that you aren’t very good at French. I think the reason why this audiobook is so good and makes French simple is that it’s structured masterfully and gives you the phrases you need. The woman’s English and French is clear and nice to listen to and the overall this audiobook is great for learning French whether you’ve dabbled in it before or just dove in.

Versatile and clear learning tool

To my opinion, this audio book is an excellent tool than can be utilized to learn french. This work is not only dedicated to french amateurs or kids of a young age, but it is also open to any category of people involved in a french activity. In other words, it could be a useful tool for tourists who often find themselves stuck in certain situations like ordering food and asking for directions or even retrieving luggage. In fact, all of these scenarios along with other very specific ones, are present for you to listen. A tourist can simply play the chapter of the audio book that is specific to the scenario he is in. With all that said, there could be a slight improvement in the layout of the table of contents. In fact, all scenarios are present and are mentioned in the beginning of each chapter, but writing the subject of each chapter with perhaps a search button would be a huge plus. I believe that once that is implemented, this audio book would be a complete and sufficient french learning tool.

Love it

I love this book. It was easy to understand. I think it would be good a gift for my neice and nephews. They would enjoy it because the narrator repeat the phrase. So it would be easy for them to recall what they have learned.

Can’t go wrong with this purchase!

What made the experience of listening to French Phrasebook the most enjoyable?

"I am a beginner level learner, not ever having taken any French classes before. So from a purely novice beginner's point of view, I can say that this is a great guide for tourists. I would be completely comfortable traveling to France with the training that this guide alone provides. In just a very short time, I learned a pretty comprehensive French vocabulary. This guide pretty much covers everything you need to know to get around, and each chapter covers a different scenario you are likely to find yourself in. In addition, you can also download a pdf version of this e-book which is very helpful as well, making this an even better value! You simply can't go wrong with this purchase!"

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoy the audio version of this book because it assists self-learners to the French language with pronunciation.

Any additional comments?

Overall, this was a great listen. The voices were easy on the ears and understandable in both English and French. It was a confidence booster for the upcoming business trip I am taking to France. I feel like I will be able to use the language more to my advantage than one who speaks none or struggles with even basics.

Soothing, easy to follow, yet ambitious

I haven't taken French since early childhood, so I definitely needed to start from the beginning. I love the soothing sound of the French tape. It was soothing, easy to follow, yet perfectly comprehensive for more ambitious beginners as well. The French accent in the tape was pretty while seeming accessible.

The book is separated into different chapters based on which categories are most needed for travelers. That was perfect. The audio book is thoughtfully planned when it comes to understanding language needs of tourists and how categories are separated into chapters.

The French speaking woman was easy to understand yet still had enough of a French accent to pronounce words correctly. The pronunciation in English was also easy to follow for a native English speaker. I also like how the French in the tape was slowly spoken but still did not state words slowly in a way that separated syllables in a way that could seem like incorrect French. As someone who has some training in teaching English to speakers of other languages, I know that clear communication when teaching a language is difficult. This audio book mastered the art of the right accent and slow speech in a way that was still accurate perfectly.

Any additional comments?

The French Phrasebook is a must have for anyone traveling to France and doesn’t know their language. What you get from the audio book will make your time there easy, as it has different chapters covering how to communicate during various encounters. The book tells you how to ask for directions back to your hotel, order food at a restaurant, introduce yourself, know where the police station is, ask the cost for a taxi, say thank, hello, interact with people you meet. Oh my! the list is endless. Done in simple and direct manner the book is easy to follow and internalize. For someone like me learning French the book comes in handy as I continue with my classes. I can practice some of the phrases and maybe surprise my teacher with my pronunciation when we get to them. I definitely recommend this book for anyone learning French or travelling to France. Thumbs up Mariem Nouni and Frederic Bibard.

Gaining Confidence, Speaking Right!

Learning French from High School was a great deal a beautiful language it is, for 6years, before I decided to study language again for 4years; a construction of sentences with the right grammar composition, use of verbs well conjugated, basic notes in French comprising of greetings, articles , prepositions, use of adjectives, question tags and answers, all these I could find in this audiobook. what a great reminder of things I had learnt and not utilized in a while and a correction of things learnt wrongly.

This audiobook I a great approach for people who are probably learning French for the first time or are the beginners level, every word was correctly pronounced audibly and slowly for easy comprehension, one could even take note while listening and still catch-up on time with the audiobook.

It is self-sufficient and reliant for a beginner to have a safe and effective trip to France without missing directions, speaking right and with confidence.

A VERY GOOD REFRESHER

I actually have more experience in French than Spanish but I always struggled understanding even the basics of French. You see I took French on and off during my elementary school days and in high school as well but the language really didn’t click with me. Believe it or not all it took was a summer of Spanish at a local Spanish camp and I felt like I could fluently speak the language. Greatly exaggerated sure but I did know more and felt a lot more comfortable with Spanish after a short while compared to the years spent on French. This was all before coming across this certain audiobook. After a while I felt the urge to try to pick French back up and actually try to be a little bit fluent in it on the offhand chance that I decide to take a vacation in a primarily French speaking country.

The audiobook is around six hours long which in my opinion is a good thing because it is really comprehensive and does cover the important phrases that you would need to not be totally lost if you ever found yourself in a French speaking country.

I have to give props to the speaker because she is really clear and concise and I can make out what she is saying. It honestly helped me brush up on my really rusty French speaking skills and I would recommend this to anyone that feels rusty but also has even the slightest experience in speaking French.

Amazing Audiobook

An excellent method for those who want to learn comfortably and efficiently.

I learned a lot and improved my pronunciation, understanding and of course the conjugation of the times correctly, which was something that was really taking me to sleep.
I believe that the methodology of repetition and comprehension is an excellent way to have the pronunciation next to that of a native speaker. Product above average.
