Freebird: The Service is a short story that follows the event of its prequel: Freebird.

This story follows Ethan Boothe, who is in the service of protecting the president of the United States. During a typical day at work, the White House comes under siege by a new organization that has yet to make its mark on the world. Surrounded by enemies, outmanned and outgunned, the two must fight their way to the bunker at all costs.

Okay, so here's the deal. Freebird: The Service, which is Book 2 in the Freebird series by Vincent King was unexpectedly pretty dang awesome! When you're looking at a short story with a running time of 37 minutes, you know that the story is a bit more likely to be mediocre at best, especially when you haven't listened to the author before. Well, I'm so happy to say this this short story was a pleasant surprise. It was fast paced, entertaining, had well-developed characters and left me wanting more!! I seriously want to hear more from Ethan Boone, I want to know what in the world is going on (at the end of the book, there is a bit of a cliffhanger that will definitely leave you wanting to listen to more right away), and well, I want a full length book, darnit!!

Samuel Deeter did an excellent job narrating this story and was, once again, a great fit for the characters and added just the right amount of emotion where it was needed. I will happily listen to more of his performances in the future. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

This story is well plotted it does contain spoilers for the storyline to a degree. However, I actually found that I now want to know want to the full story is for this book! The narrator Sam Deeter has a great voice for this project the book I think would he good unspoke, but I think Mr Deeterhas brought it to life and had me on the edge of my set! Well done to both the author and Mr Deeter!"This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review."

This story is a definite improvement on book 1, there's more substance to it and the characters seem more real.

There's still lots of action, bullets fly, people die, and it's more complex than it first seemed. It also does a good job of setting things up for another book to come.

I liked Ethan Booth, it was easy to want to cheer him on.

The character voices are well done, clear and distinct, the delivery is smooth and flows naturally.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
