Publisher's summary

Northern California beckons the Mystic Caravan crew and they’re looking forward to some down time after their previous stop. Emotions are running high and the workers are desperate to return to their normal lives.

Poet Parker and Kade Denton, for instance, have a new camper to move into and they’re both excited at the prospect of an adventure that has nothing to do with monsters. All that changes on their first night in a new camp when wendigo howls fill the air and trouble comes knocking at their metaphorical door.

One wendigo is nothing to worry about but when ghosts start calling every night, only maintaining a distance because of the dreamcatcher, things take a turn for the worse. That’s when the ghosts start invading Poet’s dreams, leaving her on the precipice of death without outside intervention.

All roads lead to a place called Falk, a forgotten logging town that died during the Great Depression. It seems the town is long gone but a bevy of ghosts remain, as does a secret so terrible that the entire foundation of the Mystic Caravan world is about to be rocked.

A fight is coming, and both sides are readying for battle. For Poet, things aren’t as easy as they seem, though.

What happens when the monster you think you’re fighting isn’t a monster at all and the so-called victims are the ones who need to be taken down?

This one kept me awake all night

I made the mistake of starting this one around 10 pm and stayed awake all night to hear it out. I like the morality issues in the books and the friendships. The eerie tales are great too, of course.

Really?

I absolutely love these books but the second time listening to this one was almost awful. Between Poet's egoism and Kades chauvinism I just wanted to gag. Of course I'll buy each one as they come out.

loved the twist

I liked the perspective Poet took with this one. Also the message about being different given to the mom was perfect. I can not wait for the next book with the crossover I think it will be epic!

Most Excellent!

I Love, Just Love this series! The characters alone are worth it but the stories that go with them gets better with everyone.

Welcome back Mystic Caravan

Freaky Rites
So, things are looking brighter for Poet and Kade. They are so over keeping secrets from each other. They enjoy their new trailer and proceed to christen each room. Kade is kinda of speaking to his father. Poet and Raven are still battling creatures and throwing snark at each other. Our boy Nellie gets a new pink velvet dress that is just right for monster killing. Poet threatens to shrink the genitalia of Mark the sleazy head honcho who runs the midway. So things are the same.

Amanda M. Lee has thrown a new element in the story, which will change the dynamics of the group. You will have to get to the end to see it, but you will have hints. Just slightly annoying was Kade who asked questions like a two-year old. Kade to Poet, how do you know that it is…, how do you kill it, why don’t you know? Poet is saying I don’t know, I don’t know.

The all-time chauvinistic attitude, Kade insist to be with Poet to protect her. We know that he has no magic so why does Kade think that is logical. That is like taking a knife to a gun fight.

With Kade and Poet becoming a couple, Luke and Poet does not have any of the girl time they had in the beginning of the series. I loved it when Kade would find Luke in the bed with him and Poet. Now Luke just whines.
