Charming

I purchased this book to hear the voice of my favorite DS from the Midsomer Murders tv program. Jason Hughes is charming as the narrator, Dillon. The story is well written, featuring the trials and tribulations of a modern Welsh family with an stalwart optimism that makes the impossible seem plausible. The author underscores the value of art to ordinary people without being pedantic (though occasionally one of the characters comes across as such) and the value of finding beauty in the ordinary. I know I will listen to this story again and again, and hope that Audible will carry more books read by Mr Hughes. Very pleased with this purchase.

Great Read

We listened to this book on a car ride and loved it. My son couldn't wait to continue after ride breaks. We all enjoyed it. The narration and story were great.

Fantastic and fun! LOVE the performance

Jason Hughes really does a fabulous job reading this book! I think I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much if I read a hard copy. We listened as a family on a long road trip and it was such a fun listen!

This is such a fun book! Jason Hughes brings it to life with his wonderful Welsh accent and the perfect sense of humour! You find yourself chuckling along with the story!

Absolutely legend!

This is a wonderful book that should not just be considered for children. I loved every minute of it, as it was brought perfectly and delightfully to life by the brilliant Jason Hughes! I really wanted to visit team Hughes and dine at the Masterpiece Cafe, and I was quite inspired by many of the thoughts involving the paintings. Everyone should read this book; I plan to listen again!
