Publisher's summary

Fifth Book in the New York Times Best-selling Series.

"We'd won. We'd cut through the lies and treachery and promised an alliance that would free us both. But even as we won, we lost. We didn't see what was coming. We didn't know we had to plan a resurrection."

Nila Weaver fell in love. She gifted her entire soul to a man she believed was worthy. And in the process, she destroyed herself. Three debts paid, the fourth only days away. The Debt Inheritance has almost claimed another victim.

Jethro Hawk fell in love. He let down his walls to a woman he believed was his cure. For a moment, he was free. But then he paid the ultimate price.

There is no more love. Only war. Hope is dead. Now, there is only death all around them.

Only suitable for dark romance lovers.

Full length book. Six in series. Fourth Debt is 85,000 words.

Dark & heart-wrenching

I continue to love this series. I feel terrible for Nila & Jethro with the things they go through. Jethro can no longer hold back his truth from Nila & she continues to remain strong no matter what the Hawks throw at her. Both are nearing the end of their ropes but find strength in each other. I remain on the edge of my seat curious at to what else this family has up their sleeves in order to extract an ancient debt that should have been dropped centuries ago. The narrator's do an excellent job inflecting so much emotion into their reading it pulls you in making you feel for the characters.

I wish I could strangle .....

I've never wanted to kill a character in a book more than I wanted to kill Bonnie, Cut and Danial! What gave me hope that pure hate could save pure love was the last chapter. A Hawk reaching out a claw to a Weaver to save what they both hold dear.

Loved it! Amazing!

This series has been by far my favorite, and I've read/listened to many books. I've never experienced duet narration before and it just added to this amazing series.

Sometimes in a story there'll be two narrators, both male and female. You'd think that the female would voice the female characters and the male would voice the male characters. (Not trying to sound sexist. It's just what we're used to hearing, with women often having higher voices and men often having lower ones.)
So it gets kind of confusing when the female narrator voices both the male and female characters during the female character's pov, and when the male narrator voices both the male and female characters during the male character's pov. It gives each character two separate voices, that often sound so different, and it can be confusing.

However, this series doesn't do that, and I'm eternally grateful for it. This has been my first experience with back and forth narration. Will M. Watt only voices the male characters and Kylie C. Stewart only voices the female ones. It makes for a great reading experience and it's much more clean cut and realistic. Pepper Winters did an excellent job on this series and the narrators brought it to life in my mind. You should definitely check this series out. <3

Can't stop listening!

Each book brings us closer to the end. That is all I can think as I am listening to this heart wrenching, cringe worthy, romantic, epic love story. Book 5 picks up right where we left off, and we get to see how Cut and Daniel were going to handle Nila. And their torture was unbearable. It's the kind that is like a train wreck and you just can't stop listening! I need to know what is going to happen. There are a bunch of surprising twists and turns. Jasmine is quite the woman, much braver and smarter than she is given credit. The Weaver family is present and we get to hear there may be light at the end of this dark, torturous tunnel. But just as we get a glimmer of hope, Pepper Winters promises some additional torment. And I can't wait to hear it! Dark, heart breaking and erotic, this series has it all.

The narration is continued by Will Watt and Kylie Stewart and they are breathtaking. I feel every single emotion, and while at times exhausting, the series is exhilarating. They are perfect as Nila and Jethro.

Love the plot

I really enjoy the story, it’s just that the author describes how the individuals are feeling, and what’s going on in their heads more than what’s actually happening, and that gets a little boring for me. Everything else is wonderful though.

Sensational audio!

OMFG, I wanted to kick and scream in frustration!!! “Fourth Debt” tugged at every emotion I had. There were points that I wanted to bang my head against the wall. I so must be a masochist! LOL That being said, “Pepper Winters” has to be the Queen of DARK! She keeps us on our toe with this gripping, deadly, salacious and frenzied novel! Oh yes, there is a fricken cliffhanger!!!!!!
