Publisher's summary

From USA Today best selling and RITA-nominated author Anthea Lawson comes this spicy full-length Victorian romantic adventure full of wit, adventure, and plenty of passion!

Miss Lily Strathmore has made a desperate bargain. One last adventure abroad with her botanist uncle and his family, and then she will do as her parents bid and wed the proper (and boring) viscount her mother has selected as Lily's ideal husband.

James Huntington is on a mission: retrieve his grandfather's lost journals from the wilds of Tunisia and win the estate and fortune he so desperately needs. This quest will be the making of him - or his ruin.

Thrown together on a botanical expedition, James and Lily's attraction is immediate - and impossible. Despite every reason to keep their distance, the two find themselves inexorably drawn together as they race to reach a hidden valley before their enemies can bring all their dreams crashing down.

Note: This title was formerly published as Passionate by Kensington books. It has been revised by the author and republished under the original title of Fortune's Flower.

maybe it's me

I finally just stopped listening and went to find another book. The narrator is good but is not a voice I enjoy listening to.

Narrator reminds me of Moaning Myrtle

Would you try another book from Anthea Lawson and/or Hollis McCarthy?

Lawson yes. McCarthy no.

If you’ve listened to books by Anthea Lawson before, how does this one compare?

Badly, because of the narrator.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Annoying voice.

Any additional comments?

I made it to chapter 8. This book might be fine to read rather than listening to it as Travel Adventure is a genre I enjoy. But the narrator reminds me of the voice of Moaning Myrtle from Harry Potter and I just couldn't keep listening.

Love and painting

This book was hard to put down. I read until 4am and the only reason I stopped was from sheer exhaustion. First thing in the morning, all I could think of was getting back to the book! Adventure, romance and flower hunting.
