I hate Fortnite but love my kids

First off I have to say I hate fortnite. I love books. I love audiobooks. I love video games. I love LITRPG which this could loosely slide into as a category. Regardless of how I feel about fortnite, my boys love it. They are obsessed with it. So I got this audiobook in the hopes I could get them to listen to it...got one to listen to about an hours worth...so what the upside to this book/audiobook? It’s a parents guide to understanding some of the game. The next time my son started spouting off about his latest game and how he dropped here instead of there, I said well that is a known hot spot for cutthroat combat right at the beginning, why didn’t you go to wailing woods? It’s far enough off that most have dropped already and the maze can yield some good loot and plenty of materials and you could have worked you way to the center picking off Stragglers and collecting materials and any leftover loot. After all the worst thing in a building battle is to run out of materials. My kid looked at me like I had six heads and all of them covered with snakes or spiders. Listen to the book. It’s an entertaining shooter rpg with your usual gamer team up and betrayals and underdog triumphs. The real gem...having a clue as to what your kids are talking about. If you’re a kid reading this review, urge your parents to listen to or read the book so they get a clue. They don’t want to play the game? That’s fine. They can have at least a clue as to what you are talking about with drops, locations, and the significance of it all to you. I am now a huge fan!

The battle at Tilted Towers is my favorite scene. All the characters are good but my favorite is Xeno. There are skins that fight as well as popular Youtubers. The fights are exciting and I got a lot of tips from the book.

Definitely the best Fortnite book I’ve listened to!

Fortnite Deathmatch: Season 5

Even though this book was not the first season I was able to follow along as a stand alone. The narration in this book was phenomenal because I could tell who each character was because they all had their own voice. The conversations between all the characters had humor as well as intensity throughout the whole book. I would recommend this book.

Best Fortnite story

All the weapons, areas and skins are in this book. It's got a funny story and interesting characters.
It covers season 5 and I've learned a lot of tips and laughed at many of the jokes.

Not appropriate for kids

Questionable language. Asking for a refund 5 min after listening. Not happy since lots of kids play Fortnite.

If you're a fan of the game, you'll enjoy this....

What a phenomenon Fortnite is right now.
Royal Deathmatch follows Garrick, as he leaves Spawn island and lands on the remote island along with 99 other players. Along the way he visits the various locations that are now so well known by millions of players worldwide.Collecting various weapons and items, making and breaking alliances, and trying to keep ahead of the incoming storm are just some aspects that make up Garricks quest to stay alive.
For those that are familiar with the game, you'll enjoy this story. The account is well written, well researched and Jeffrey Arndt does a good job of bringing it all to life.
I received this copy for free, in return for an honest review.
