Publisher's Summary

Three years after being named Alpha of the North American pack, Elena Michaels is in London battling for respect from the British pack. When it becomes apparent she won't get it, she heads home, expecting a much-needed rest on her family vacation, only to discover a battle brewing of a very different kind.

One of her eight-year-old twins has disappeared, and all evidence points to Malcolm Danvers. It seems as if the psychotic former Pack member they've been tracking for the past year has brought the fight to them, setting the bait he knows Elena can't afford to ignore.

Number one New York Times-bestselling author Kelley Armstrong returns to her much-loved Otherworld with this powerful novella detailing the latest trials and travails of a fan-favorite character, a working mother who happens to lead the werewolves of North America.

What kind of ending was that! Ok so this book was great, I loved getting a glimpse into where everyone is years later but the way it ends leaves you wanting and needing to know what Elena will do and this is the last book on Audio that isn't an anthology! Lets just said what happens next better be in one of those ;)

The narration was good but the recording wasn't edited very well. There are multiple parts that repeat.

Elena POV as she steps into her power as Alpha and Mother

If it wasn't for the narrator I would have loved this more. I always appreciate how Armstrong describes the internal turmoil of dealing with high stress life and death situations. She slows the action down so you can understand characters motivations and calculations. A parents anxiety about losing a child provides great tension and you can see how her thinking and actions are impacted. Not enough interplay with other characters and the humor and banter missing. Elena is clever and quick typically so I missed her sarcasm. Te narrator didn't get the voices right. Adam sounded like he was on valium and clay's IQ sounded lower than his shoe size. I love clay so this disturbed me!

great story, terrible sound

I've listened to hundreds of audio books, this is the first that sounds so terrible and tinny. sounds as if it was recorded in a cheap recording system.

Good book. Awful recording.

Love the Otherworld series, and this was a nice addition. However, the sound quality was simply awful. It was as if the entire book was recorded through a tin can and a string. Thankfully it was a short book. If I didn't enjoy the series so much, I don't think I would have continued listening. It was that off-putting.

I will miss this series and the characters!

I began listening to this series 7 years ago and have been going through novels, novellas, and short-stories at a leisurely pace. Not wanting to rush things. I am glad I didn't rush it, as the journey was well worth it.

The characters in the series are vibrant and develop over the course of the series.

I hate spoilers, but just wanted to say one word for this novella... TWINS! I loved this story and the changes to the Pack within.

I........almost......didn’t......make.....it....

I have listened to every single audiobook available in the other World Series and this narrator was the second worst narrator, (The one that narrated Stolen was definitely the worst. If you want female Captain Kirk reading you a story then this narrator is for you. She was so monotone it was ridiculous, she sounded like she was recording it from her bathroom, she paused for three seconds between each word practically throughout the entire book on top of that this is the first book in the entire series where the narrator repeated lines. I guess the only good thing I can say about her narration is that she got the pronunciations of the names correct. The book it’s self is another gem by Kelly Armstrong although Some of it didn’t seem as though she was being true to how the characters were in previous books. WARNING SPOILERS!!!! Elana snapping at Jeremy and getting angry with him for asking her daughter questions. She had a pretty good idea of what was happening to her daughter and knew that Jeremy had been the one to help almost ALL of the previous pack members through their first changes....so any line of questioning Jeremy had pertained to that subject was warranted, she had never done that in any of the other books so now that she’s Alpha she feels as though she can be short and snappy with him instead of trusting him completely like she has throughout all the other books, she knows that anything that he does he has a reason for doing so, or at least she knew that before she became Alpha, it could just be me though

What a great book. Make sure you have time.

Things are rough for the twins at age 8 while the wolf packs of the different territories are at unrest. The best part is the protective partnership developing and descrect protector in the background. Knowing this ,the intrigue and capturing of Kelley Armstrong's way she wrote this to be read is breathtaking by the reader. What a way to show what a little territory to be oneself so they can be a part of a bigger pack to, well I will let make your own review on that. For me though it is what made the clues come alive for me. And inspire to write more.
