hire a narrator

Cute story but the author should hire a narrator. It was hard to listen to.

Best of the 3

Diana Orgain books have gotten better with the series. Light, easy listening. Maybe a professional voice actor might have been better, but overall good.

Decent story

After listening to another audible written by the author but narrated by someone else, I decided to go back to the first one in the series.

Sadly, the author’s character voices weren’t good at all. But now I understand why she has a different narrator for her other stories.

The story is decent, but she constantly talks about the baby and “mommy guilt.” It would be nice if the book could be re-edited and given a different narrator.

Considering, that I already listened to another book written by this author and thought it was good, I encourage anyone who chooses this story first to read/listen to this author’s other works.

In spite of the negative reviews, I decided to listen to this series. I am glad I did! At times I was laughing out loud. This was the best book in the series. I highly recommend this author! I can't wait to read more!!

Fun, quick cozy

This is a cute cozy, narrator by the author. Normally, I find that to be unappealing, but she does it quite well. The story was good, but the mystery felt weak to me. Still, the characters are good and I will try more from this author.

If you love cozy mysteries, you’ll love this

When an author narrates their own work, it can be a gamble. In this case, Diana Orgain won. I have very much enjoyed this series.

A good formula

I enjoyed this book. I want to say I loved it but the 'to do' list that was pretty much the same in every chapter got annoying, even her ever loving husband doesn't like them. The characters were fun but kate is a little too quick to panic, when not necessary and then slow when I think she really should be and for a mother who didn't want to return to work after her daughters birth sure needs a lot of baby sitters. Having said all that I did like the book. The mystery had a number of suspects that kept me guessing and with so much going on in the story it is fun trying to work out how it is all connected and who the killer was. the Christmas rush and preparation are a fun touch. This is book three in the series and somehow I missed book two, so I am now off to find out how one of my new favourite characters joined the team. You have got to love a teenage computer hacker.
When Kate and her baby daughter he involved in a bit and run accident, Kate is determined to find out who is responsible. Her investigation leads her to the French consulate, where she runs a fowl of diplomatic immunity. While there she sees a reporter coming out, she is following up on a story? Kate doesn't know because days later her dead body is found. The ex husband becomes the number one suspect and when he learns Kate is a private investigator the family wants to hire her. Can she find time to do her Christmas shopping, attend a party at the consulate, track down the man who crashed into her and catch a killer. With out speaking any French?
I liked the narrator, she does a good of giving a voice to each character.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
