Dela has been nomadic for years, trying to hide in the world and avoid the looming darkness she senses.
Until she's found in the woods, and dragged back into the fight, she believed the evil was new, something just blooming.
Now, she's fighting the evil she thought she destroyed, while trying to keep safe a people who never wanted her.
Oh, and let's not forget the three boys she can't get rid of, who for some reason think they're the ones protecting her.
Dela just wanted to get lost in the wilderness and enjoy it for a while.
Now she's back in the war, and fighting it may cost her more than she bargained for.

The audio format perfectly enhances the rich, moody atmosphere of Hallowvale. From the start, the mystery of the "creeping corruption" and the high-stakes threat of resurfacing enemies keep the listener engaged. While the world-building occasionally relies on "talky" exposition—which can feel a bit dense in spoken format—the narrator’s steady pacing helps bridge these gaps.
Despite a few minor editing slips that are more noticeable in audio, this is a rewarding listen for those who love secret worlds and ancient power. It is an intense, fate-touched story that balances magical action with deep romantic heart. If you are looking for a paranormal romance with high emotional stakes and a heroine who refuses to break, this production is an excellent use of a credit.

One question - in this world, when you find your mate, is that kind of it? Like you just automatically consent to ... everything?
The narration was at a great pace, a little mic issue in the beginning. Shannon Webber's young voice sometimes had me forgetting that the FMC is 300+. She didn't do voices for the characters (totally fine by me), but it made it a little trickier for passages where there's a lot of participants in a conversation (I pulled the text up on KU a few times to follow along).
TW: there is some content that might be sensitive for those with ED ~ food morality
