Love the banter between the characters. Vanessa & Adam are, as usual, the best. Can't wait for the next one.

Packed full of drama and surprises

Another great book in the series. It was packed full of drama, action, some romance, and once again, many revelations. I can’t get over how we keep finding out more and more about Emberly and what she can do. I was shocked to meet the ruler of the fallen and forsaken. I was so worried about Steel what was going to happen, and I could not believe what happened to the human people there. Then, in the end there was a betrayal, it did not surprise me. I cannot wait to read more about Emberly’s father and what is going to happen to make everything go back to normal.

ALL the sass, suspense, & emotion brought 2 life!

Forging Darkness is EVEN BETTER than Stealing Embers! It's a twisty roller coaster ride of adventure and discovery that leaves you breathless by the end.
The intricate world building made me feel like I could "see" the locations, and what was happening, and oh, the wonderful characters! They either had me snort-laughing out loud, biting my nails in dread, wanting to knock some sense into them, or getting the vapors from THE FEELZ!

 Emberly's learning to trust and then protect those she deems family. The insights into Steel's character from his point of view, and his chemistry & connection to Emberly, then Sterling, Blaze and Aurora, with their audaciousness, and the love & allegiance of the rest of Emberly's newfound friends...even little Tinkle, are fantastic! Even though I wish there had been more of Tinkle's activities brought to light, like when he vanishes or some of his other escapades, his relationship with one of the others was adorable. (Julie, hint: Tinkle novella?! Wink , wink, want more Tink!)
The new characters, such as the enigmatic Thorne, bring in a whole new level of "what now?!" More exposure to the Fallen and the Forsaken had me cringing for Emberly. And wicked Julie then threw in some convoluted and murky information, but when it starts coming to light, it's just mind blowing!
Head's up, there is a definite hook at the end that had me wanting to throw my reader, after I caught my breath, so be prepared! So need book 3, & it can't get here fast enough! (Though I know Julie Hall should get to bask in her accomplishment first, so no pressure!)

Vanessa Moyen truly brings all the sass & emotion alive, & Adam Gold really makes Steel a larger than life presence! Well done!

Even better than the first

Adam and Vanessa just knock it out of the park! I absolutely adore these characters, and having them brought to life, just makes it even better. Steel is missing, determined to find his sister, and Emberly is the only one he semi-talks to (if it can even be called that, up to a point). This takes you on a wild ride, and gives so many answers to questions remaining from Stealing Embers!! I highly recommend this series! You won't be sorry!

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I am anxious to hear what happens next for Steel and Emberly. I do enjoy the double narration but the male narrator can be so over-dramatic it’s almost comical at times.
