Publisher's Summary

Tatum Steele is a proficient lawyer and sexual dominant desperately in need of a legal assistant. Christopher Waters is a recent graduate who is looking for work, and he has secret fantasies of being bound by his lover. Both men feel heat from instant attraction when they meet for an interview, but Chris questions his feelings because he has a boyfriend, one he has been with for years. So how is it that Tatum makes him doubt everything he has? After Christopher's boyfriend viciously betrays him, he flees to the firm and Tatum takes him away to regroup. A relationship quickly forms when Chris expresses interest in BDSM. It's difficult for Christopher to learn trust, but after Tatum willingly submits himself to Chris for a night, he knows that he will give the man anything he asks for. After their first official scene at Steel Cuffs, Tatum's favorite BDSM club, Tatum and Chris realize that what they have is more than just sex - it's love. Only one thing stands in their way, something that could destroy everything they have built together. Tatum's family has never approved of his sexual orientation, and they are determined to never allow a public relationship to tarnish their family name. Tatum has to risk everything in order to save his boy from death.

loved this book and narrator

I loved the storyline between tatum and Christopher. The Story begins with Christopher having a domineering boyfriend who doesn't respect him or can be faithful that's when Tate walks in and changes his world and Christopher's World at the same time.

Good listen

My first with this narrator, I had to listen at 1.5 speed. David Ross is actually not bad at all. The story was great, I liked banter in the end. Cant wait for the next book.

BDSM well written, balance not.

Author wote the BDSM relationship in good detail and adequately. The drama and action parts were corny and devoid of interest.

Narration was nothing special, a little to drawly for me.

Narration a bit stiff, but I enjoyed the story

Any additional comments?

The storyline isn't original - I've encountered the trope before - bdsm, boss/assistant, abusive former boyfriend, intolerant family drama - and while the family drama was a bit over the top in this one, I did like the characters and feel this was worth the read/listen. I did like that I was able to do Whispersync via the Romance Package and Kindle Unlimited for the eBook. The narration was a bit stiff especially in the beginning, so I liked being able to switch between reading it myself and listening if I was engaged in another activity. The relationship that developed between Chris and Tate was hot and also very sweet. I wish the next 2 books in the series was available in audio, but glad they're on KU and plan to continue reading the series.

Great start in a series!

I had read this book previously so I knew the story but David Ross brought this story to life in a way that was amazing. Tate and Christopher were alive in a way that pulled you in and did not want to let you go.

Though, I would recommend to turn it off when going through the drive-thru. That poor cashier still has difficulty looking at me without blushing.
