Too much sizzle not enough substance

The narrator was fine- just didn’t particularly like the way it was read or sounded- a little too sweetsie! Also far too much sizzle and sexual innuendo for the content and even genre of the book. I haven’t read Jody Hedlund for awhile, but it seemed she stepped away from a simple story to a supposed mystery with great danger to the heroine, but the plot was excessively simple. It seemed unbalanced. However, i did, for the most part, enjoy the book!

A Decent Read

It was a decent story. the Female character was a little slow and the explanations or mind thoughts were long winded. I I let it finished but wasn't too much into it. I don't like when the females are made to seem slow. Like really slow. I was literally yelling at my phone "Why are you so slow?!" By that I mean slow minded.

Not the same old story

This story has many proponents that are very real, and not just add ons to further the story.

I could see these characters in my mind very clearly. This is not just boy meets girl. This is full with rich characters that bring your mind to things in your own life. I felt such peace for my own situation as I read the courage of all of these in the story. (The good ones of course)

The narrator is the best I have ever heard! I listen to about four to five books a month. Most of the time I'm hoping they are simply tolerable. I'm so grateful for Christian writers. It means no surprise foul language or situations. Love is not predicated on sex. I don't need or want descriptions of it. This author is truly a work of art!

Loved it!

This book was amazing and captivating right from the start you hold in your breath till it's through! Thanks Jody you are a great writer and an inspiration to many!

LOVED IT!

I absolutely loved the first book in this series Love Unexpected but I have to say this book may have been a little bit better. I think this book had more action and passion. Although this book had lots of passion, it is clean with no sex

Suspenseful, Romantic and Heartfelt

This was a wonderful romantic story filled with a lot of suspense, tension, heartache and sweet moments. Tom was an incredible hero. I think He's my favorite that I've read of Jody's thus far! I loved the romance and unabashed passion Tom's dad had for his wife and how he encouraged Tom to Love like that too. The dinner scene in chapter 12 had me giggling and fanning myself . Just so fun, sweet and honorable. A clean yet passionate story not to be missed!

Such a wonderful story

This is the 3rd book I’m listening to from the author and I thoroughly enjoyed the story. I found myself smiling from time to time during the main characters’ interaction and I like very much the way the relationship evolved. Narrator was great. Overall great book.

Sweet Story

I do love Jody Hedlund's writing style! Her stories are engaging and her characters become as familiar as friends & family.
I'm not a big fan of people in positions of trust, & having made promises, going back on them, so I cannot give 5 stars. But, as always, it is a lovely and compelling, detail-rich story.
I especially liked the messages about trusting God with loss.
As with the rest of this series so far, the narrator, Becky Doughty, does a real nice job as well!

An Ok Book

It was an Ok book, it could've been better but at least it's not bad like the previous book
So this time we follow Victoria Cole who is a rich Heiress and she is receiving death threats on her life .. so her father hires her a bodyguard .. Tom .. who is supposed to be the best in this field .. but even this professional dude can't resist the charms of a beautiful woman .. what will happen ?
This is such a classic story so there was nothing new but it was an OK book to say the least
I'm looking forward to Nathaniel's story since he was heart broken in this book

The narrator improved a lot in this book, maybe she had so much practice but she wasn't annoying as the previous books

Not as good as the first two but I managed to stick with it. I liked it.
