Publisher's summary

How is a wife to love her husband? By learning three things, says Tony Evans: how to submit, seduce, and surrender to her husband. Out of these three principles a godly marriage will grow.

In For Married Women Only, pastor and author Tony Evans explores these three principles in a straight-forward yet encouraging manner. He unpacks the touchy topic of submission and lays out the rewards inherent in this biblical model. On seduction, Evans looks at the quality of attractiveness and how embodying it can be pleasing to your spouse and to God. And with surrender, readers will examine why a wife is the perfect helpmate for her husband and how to combat attitudes opposed to God's design.

The true purpose of marriage...

If you could sum up For Married Women Only in three words, what would they be?

Biblically correct doctrine

What other book might you compare For Married Women Only to and why?

The nature of the book is to clarify the role of women in marriage, so it most resembles the Bible.

Which character – as performed by Mirron Willis – was your favorite?

Mirron Willis is a wonderful narrator; I have no preference.

What did you learn from For Married Women Only that you would use in your daily life?

What I learned from this book was that before I remarry, my man and I need to discuss what we believe our joint purpose is as a married couple in the Kingdom. Our union should be about more than a love match and compatibility. It should be about exploring our individual gifts to Kingdom life and how we can bring the best out of one another to attain that goal.

Short read (listen), yet packed with information

Really enjoyed this book. 3 chapters at about 30 mins each. Scripture quoted all throughout so you can research on your own. Really enjoyed how straight to the point this was all the while being so thought provoking!

not married. but good information.

Ok so I'm a single girl who I didn't realise was struggling with giving up control even before I get the chance to give it up. God has been taking me through key lessons to having an amazing marriage the one he had in mind for me and just like the other books I've read in this line it's said the truth. the truth based on the bible. whether we like it or not or believe it or not, this is how it's meant to be. it's hard for me to grasp it and I often ask myself why but I let my trust and love for God take the lead. he obviously sees something I don't and knows why he made it this way so I'll follow what he says. this book hit the nail on the head without trying to make it sound cool. it says it the way it is. it made me feel uncomfortable but I would have to completely agree with everything in the book. God help is all!

Great advice for married and looking to be married

My biggest takeaway was that the Husband is the head on the body of the marriage, and that he needs to act in line with God to make the marriage work. You cannot change him and only God can, so don't think you can take an ungodly or broken man and fix him yourself. Single and looking ladies, make sure this man's head is what you want to trust and follow before accepting a marriage proposal!
