Publisher's Summary

A food truck business can be exceptionally gainful as countless people consistently eat at versatile diners. Rather than trusting that customers will go to your business, you can go to where they are and draw them in with a one-of-its-kind exhibit of delicious dishes.

You can begin and run a food truck business with impressively less staff than what you would require to run an ordinary restaurant. It is, likewise, more affordable and includes lower overhead costs when contrasted with a traditional restaurant business.

Food trucks have been around for a long time. They're intended to take into account the needs of individuals who don't have much time during their mid-day break.

This book covers all the information you need to know about the food truck business, such as:

  • Ways to start a food truck business
  • Great reasons to open a food truck
  • Steps to starting your own mobile food stand business
  • Reasons why social media is so essential to food truck success
  • Steps for starting your mobile food cart
  • Chefs in the truck
  • Ways how to keep a business healthy for the long run

Very thorough guide

This is a very thorough guide on the food truck business. For those who may be in the business, it may have the advantage to help you improve your revenue by tweaking your business model a little bit. For those just curious about it, it is a great guide to know everything you need to know before getting into a business that may not be exactly what you think it is. There is this Food Truck Race show on food network that will get you an idea of how much hard work goes into one of this business. The book goes along the same way. If you think this is an easy task, thing twice. If you still want to go ahead, by all means do it, but make sure you understand the complexity of it. This books will be an essential tool for that. ALSO, make sure you understand your city's policies in regards food trucks. Chicago, for example, is one of the worst places in America to have a food truck. The city just passed some legislation in 2011 that makes it even harder to run this type of business. In that, like in many other aspects, Chicago falls behind other American cities and moves to the bottom in becoming a world class city, despite what the mayor says.

Book was helpful overall. The story teller on the other hand was boring I found myself drifting off in my thoughts and needing to go back to hear what was said. Information was good

“A lot surprisingly tricky”

The title of this review, “a lot surprisingly tricky” is an actual sentence from this “book”. Despite some useful general concepts around starting a food truck, this book is riddled with grammatical errors and is extremely repetitive. It is clear that this book was not edited or at best was maybe skimmed by someone claiming to “edit”. Amazed at all the good reviews.

Not worth it.

I guess anything can be published nowadays. The grammar contained in this book was so horrible I felt bad for the narrator who was forced to read it out loud for a paycheck. I know almost nothing about food truck ownership and after having listened to this book know nothing more. I could have written this by guessing and a bit of internet research. I was looking for some real-deal advice on how to start a food truck. This is not that resource.

Great for beginners

If you have zero food service experience this is a great book . If you have any experience it might get slow at parts but still some good information about dealing with truck builders and how to handle that . Wouldn’t use a credit on this but worth the $4 for sure

useful guide

I got this book because a friend has been talking up the idea of opening a food truck as a small business. Of course, he knows nothing about starting up a food truck or opening a small business of any kind, so seeing this book seemed providential. I have to say this book was a comprehensive introduction to the complicated reality of establishing a food truck and reading it certainly opened both out eyes about the need to give this process a LOT more thought and research. Highly recommended for anyone considering capitalizing on the recent food truck boon.

Glad I listen it

So before listening this book, I was toying with the idea of opening a food truck. I lived in an area where there was a desperate need for it, and willing/eager customers just waiting for one to open. I saw a need and thought - hey, I can fill this need and make a few bucks doing it too - pretty cool right? Well ... I am so glad I listen this book. Opening a food truck is a TON of work - way more than I thought it would be and I am generally a pretty realistic person. If I pursued this idea, this book is the perfect how-to checklist to get started. As it is, I will sit back and wait for someone else to fill the gap.

This book is so fun! You need it in your life!

Follow along as the food trucks get ready for the day and a family gets ready to go to the festival and enjoy the food!I really liked the close look at what goes on in a food truck, and having the narrative split between the food trucks and the family creates a nice sort of tension and great satisfaction when the family finally makes it to the food truck festival!

Relevant Food Truck Information

Food Truck Strategy is relevant for what's happening now! Other food truck books on the market are dated. A must listen for people that want to get a head start running their own truck without continuing to bump your head on stupid mistakes and waste valuable time/money.

Great Book

If you've listen any of these dummies books then you will be familiar with this format. They take you by the hand and lead you where the title tells you that you are going. From finding a truck to what kind of food, health department inspections, food handling, pricing, this book has it all. I am not opening a food truck but I might sell at the local festivals after listening this book. Food for thought.

Just the Facts, Ma'am

Running a Food Truck for Dummies will open many people's eyes as to just how much planning, preparation, detail and just plain hard work goes into getting one of these rolling restaurants out into the street. This book is likely to become the bible for anyone considering a career in catering or mobile food services. No aspect of food truck operation goes unturned and ranges from menu selection and proper equipment to getting the right licenses and designing marketing programs to help spread the word. Anyone who has patronized a food truck may think it looks easy, but this guidebook quickly dispels that notion.
