Very informative!!

After listening to this audiobook, I have a different perspective for people that battle all types of addiction. I have several friends that have battled food addictions and this has really been helpful in showing me what I can do to help them.

a good, short listen

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

So, this was an interesting listen. I can't say that I've ever really given food addiction much thought, but I know it is an issue. I thought this book did a good job of talking about it in a way that made sense. I also think it provided some potentially good approaches to dealing with it.

Helpful and Informative

This audiobook explains food addiction, what it is, what causes it, and how to formulate a plan to overcome it. It starts with a question and answer segment meant to help you determine the extent of your food addiction. It's presented in a factual and non-judgmental way and is meant to help people on any part of the food addiction spectrum. I thought it was interesting even for someone without a food addiction, the part on how to deal with cravings would be helpful to anyone on a diet.

The narrator performs clearly and make it easy to listen to. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

The science and seduction of addiction

This book gives you a range of questions and explanations to help you determine if you fall somewhere on the scale of food addiction. Overweight or overly skinny, you can be a food addict. The book provides an explanation as to why we can become addicted and resources to help you combat it.

The recording did have a few places were it would repeat half a sentence in the first half of the book.

The problem and possible solutions

Breaks down and shows some ways to overcome food addiction and the problems it is devastating our country with. I think it breaks down food addiction into terms that fit a lot of addictions and gives some advice that can help with all sorts of addictions. Combating addiction can be hard especially when it is something you can't completely cut out of your daily life, but this book breaks down some habits and tools you can use to combat it. Overeating is something that more and more of the populace is having an issue with, and this book is timely and trying to be helpful to the general public. It has some solid tools and probably some that won't work for everyone, but that is why it gives quite a few options. I think it is a good book to look into to get some healthier eating habits whether you are overweight or addicted to food or not.

Understanding and acting

This was a great understanding of why we do certain things related to our cravings and chemical responses our brain has. First step is awareness and this really helps with it. Then it gives you great tips to try so you can train yourself off of some of the behaviors.
