    Jun 13 2021

We continue with Brother S. Michael Wilcox as he uses Russian literature to expound on the power of Doctrine and Covenants 65. What does giving someone an onion have to do with being invited to the long-awaited marriage feast? As they transition to Section 66, they focus on the importance of bearing testimony--of first believing and acting on that belief--and then receiving a witness. Listen as Brother Wilcox bears his powerful testimony of the goodness of Jesus Christ’s gospel.

Dang good podcast

This is amazing.

Firstly, the co-hosts are phenomenal. I took classes from Hank Smith at BYU and I think he and John Bytheway are amazing speakers. I’m 23 now and the speeches of both of these guys on the scriptures connected with me from age 10 through my teenage years helping avoid all kinds of dumb decisions.

Secondly, since graduating from BYU I’ve really missed leaning on serious church historians and scripture scholars as I study the scriptures. This makes some of that a lot more accessible to members who didn’t get the chance to study there.

Sad aside: I just wish more content like this could be available in other languages. The English speaking members of the church are blessed have access to great men and women like the speakers on this show who are both educational and entertaining! You can translate words, but it’s hard to translate personality.

Absolutely incredible

A friend recommended this podcast to me. I’ve been a fan of both Hank Smith & John Bytheway since I was a young teen, so I was willing to listen. The amount of information, examination, history, testimony, and love that goes into these episodes is incredible. Absolutely faith-changing, and just what I’ve needed ❤️ thank you so so much for doing these and for having amazing guests with varying backgrounds, personalities, and perspectives.

THANK. YOU.

This has been a huge help for me. I feel like I, myself, can only think so many thoughts, and I miss hearing the perspective of others, particularly those who know more about this subject than me. I really miss Institute classes, and this feels like I can submerge myself in the doctrine as deeply if not deeper than an Institute class. Thank you so much for making this available!
