Publisher's Summary
Oren Klaff is known as the man who can pitch anything. In his new book, Flip the Script, Oren outlines his seven power moves to ensure you seal any business deal.
When you're selling a product or service, you're also selling yourself. You need to establish yourself as the expert - and quickly. Prospective business partners want to know: what's in it for me, why now, why do I care, how does it work and why you?
During his career Oren has raised over $2 billion for entrepreneurs, and in Flip the Script he reveals how to win over the room in a matter of moments. Over the past 10 years, Oren has worked with a team of cognitive scientists to analyse thousands of high-stakes business interactions and has used these findings to develop new methods for gaining influence in even the most impossible situations.
Flip the Script is split into four parts, providing crucial tips on how to:
- Control your environment
- Structure your stories to grab immediate attention and engage listeners
- Know when to respect the power hierarchy and when to challenge it
- Close without closing, by pitching then walking away from the table
Master these techniques and you'll never have to 'close' a prospect again; the buyers will close all by themselves.
Flip the Script will take fans of Oren to the next level of pitch mastery, with his own in-the-field anecdotes, exclusive insights and proven methods for success. This audiobook will transform your approach - you'll be fully prepared to raise money, seal deals and keep your cool in the toughest business situations.

Self help? More like a biography
This reads a lot more than an autobiography than a manual. It’s packed with bragging about his accomplishments, how rich he is, and the powerful people he has interacted with.
For example: “This was a bad time for me because my family home I was having built with the extra 2 garages, hockey rink and extended kitchen, the expenses were climbing fast”.
Did I really need to know that to understand why you didn’t want to invest in the deal?
Anyway, here’s a summary of the what I found useful from the first 3 hours:
*Establish position*
Overwhelm them with bullshit - memorise a spiel of technical jargon that you can say 2x the speed to dazzle them.
*Why should they care?*
Winter is coming - ie the market is shifting and if they don’t switch to your product they will be left behind. Never say that your product is better than theirs, just show how yours is the up and coming.
*What’s in it for them?*
Your product has to be at least double/half their existing stats or it’s not worth the hassle. You can use subjective stats too like “half the stress”.
*Why me?*
Prove that you have skin in the game and you won’t disappear the second the money changes hands.
Also the way this is read is distractingly enthusiastic and jumpy, with weird pauses and inflections. Have a listen to the preview, you’ll see what I mean.

Actionable steps to win any pitch!
This book nails it. Oren Klaff is a master of the pitch and whilst I loved his first book, Pitch Anything, this one is next level and it's brilliant. It really captures how buyers now have all the control when it comes to the sale, they've done their research, they know what is out there to address their needs, so your job is to stand head and shoulders above the other choices. This book shows you how to do that, it will help anyone position themselves as the RIGHT CHOICE in any transaction. Really simple, actionable steps that you can take into any pitch/negotiation session and win. Great book, highly recommended!
