Publisher's summary
Miss Isadora Delafield may be an heiress, but her life is far from carefree. When her mother begins pressuring her to marry an elderly and uncouth duke, she escapes from the high-society world she's always known and finds herself to be an unlikely candidate for a housekeeper position in rural Pennsylvania.
Mr. Ian MacKenzie is known for his savvy business sense and has built his reputation and fortune completely on his own merits. But when his adopted parents are in need of a new housekeeper and Isadora is thrown into his path, he's unexpectedly charmed by her unconventional manner.
Neither Isadora nor Ian expected to find the other so intriguing, but when mysterious incidents on the farm and the truth of Isadora's secret threaten those they love, they'll have to set aside everything they thought they wanted for a chance at happy ever after.

Fantastic!
Though not prone to "flights of fancy" Miss Isadora Delafield certainly went on an unexpected adventure in this wonderful book.
I loved getting to know Izzie, seeing her blossom and find what Aunt Birdie would call the "gifts God gives all his children" was simply delightful. I loved all the humorous mishaps Izzie encountered.
I also loved Ian Mackenzie. A man set to climb the ranks of society, until he sees some long buried truths in his heart.
I love the unique humor, quirky characters, and sweet message the author spreads through the pages and into my heart.
No spoilers from me but hold on, there are some children that will steal your hearts and an unusual assortment of pets that keep things interesting.

Sweet but predictable
This was a sweet, light story that included fun elements. The “dramatic” elements were predictable in coming and being solved. Definitely worth getting on sale, worth a credit if you are looking clean romance that focuses on basic Christian values without being too preachy.

Cute Story
The book was fun and might’ve been thoroughly enjoyable if I had read the book format, or with a different narrator. I truly hate being negative about a narrator’s performance as we are all doing the best we can in our jobs, I choose to believe. However, this is likely not her calling as I had to force myself to continue with this book with the sing-song, same inflection for every character narration. So sad when a book has potential, but never arrived for this reason.
