Great Overview of Consulting Challenge ls

The author does a good job of covering consulting challenges with practical, actionable solutions. I wish I had read it before starting consulting.

I think my only criticism is that this version is abridged and I'd love more content to use.

Good Refresher, But Could Cover More

I enjoyed this refresher of the original edition of Flawless Consulting. Mr. Block reiterates some of the good advice for having authenticity as a consulting and building relationships with integrity. I did, however, want a little more than what was included in the audio version because I found the original edition so helpful, for example -- overcoming resistance, dealing with potential objections, and engaging with senior executives. It was definitely a good return on the time invested -- it was very valuable, but I think I could have used the unabridged version on audio!

Disappointing

My fault -- I didn't read the reviews before purchasing and didn't realize that it was abridged. A shame, too, since I really like the book and thought listening to it in the car would help me remember key concepts. Hey audible -- any change of getting an unabridged version?

Brutally abridged

There are 19 chapters in the book. After chapter 3, I had listened to 50% of the recording. If you need the material, get the book.

Not spectacular

The book was not greatly organized and tended to ramble a bit. It came off dry and lacking any energy at all. I would say it's effective in learning some things that can be helpful to your consulting business as far as dealing with clients, but these things can be gotten from many other sources that will not put you to sleep.

so so...

what the book did was to give me another view of consulting from a reputable source. while i thought the book was well organized, it did not have anything special to take home after reading it. perhaps my expectation was too high....

This book changed my consulting practice forever

This is the most amazing book.
It's hugely abridged -- I don't have the print edition but this is MUCH shorter.
But MAN, it's good.
It's a completely different view of what makes a successful consultant.
It has changed my life completely -- not to mention my clients' lives!
I can't recommend it highly enough.
And if you're a consultant and you ever have a chance to hear Peter speak, go and listen to him. Amazing.

An OK book about how to be a better consultant

This audible is simply a review of the original book, so I can't rate the original text itself. The content of this review book was mostly common sense, though I picked out a few nuggets. The performance was not very engaging, and I had to work to pay attention and to maintain any hope of gaining from the book.

Terrible.

Not organized at all. The reader was not particularly compelling either.
