Publisher's summary

Deep in a magical forest lives the sleepy village of Anguis, where dragons are the rulers and witches are the servants.

Seventeen-year-old twins Sanna and Isadora Spence must soon face the Selectis - the moment when a dragon chooses them. For Sanna, the Selectis can’t happen soon enough. For Isadora, she’d rather die.

When unexpected events at the Selectis turn their world around, Sanna and Isadora are each forced to make a decision. Each sister will choose the wrong path, and each sister will suffer for it.

Can they come back together to save their family in time from far more nefarious foes than they’d known existed?

Or will the simmering tension in the dragon village finally crack and go up in a burst of flame?

Join the beloved sister witches in Flame, the first book in the Dragonmaster Trilogy.

New favourite series!

I absolutely adored this book! I came into it not really expecting much, but I was blown away by the originality and the creativity. It has a little of everything. Magic, political intrigue, true to life conflicts, a little romance (although it is more in depth in the following books). A series where you can't be completely sure that some of your favourite characters won't die. I honestly think my heart stopped beating in a couple of the places, and more then once I had tears in my eyes. Even if Dragons and Magic aren't your thing, I highly recommend this book! the narration is beyond excellent. Her voices are diverse, and she easily maintains your interest. Not only will I be reading the other books in this series, again and again, but I will also be keeping my eye out for this narrator and her other works. It's also taking care of Christmas for me to more than one person!

Twins with divergent destinies

The story had a great pace. While I questioned some of the character’s actions, I really enjoyed the story. Katie Cross does a great job starting of an interesting and engaging series.
