Publisher's Summary

"What matters most is how you walk through the fire." ~ Charles Bukowski

No longer simmering and crackling beyond our realm, the fire smoldering in the distance roars to life. The blaze has the capacity to scorch and destroy everything and everyone in its path.

All that I've known and believed was obliterated the moment Madeline spoke a truth I'd never suspected. With one sentence, one plea, my life has taken an uncharted turn. Through the smoke and soot, I search for answers.

A man, an outfit, and my brothers-in-arms have been my solace, my calling, and my reason to live. Now that I know there's more, what will the future hold?

The Ivanov bratva wants Chicago. I want what they possess. With the Sparrow world at war, and Madeline's declaration, she and I are surrounded, trapped by the inferno.

What will remain when the flames cease and we are left surveying the ashes?

From New York Times best-selling author Aleatha Romig comes a brand-new dark romance, FLAME, set in the dangerous world of Sparrow Webs. You do not need to read or listen to the Web of Sin or Tangled Web trilogy to get caught up in this new and intriguing saga, Web of Desire.

FLAME is Book Two of the WEB OF DESIRE trilogy that began in SPARK and concludes in ASHES.

Triggers?

The storyline is very depressing in several chapters; however, human trafficking is an unfortunate reality. Also, enough of the dialogue might act as triggers for some listeners. I am surprised the author did not include this comment when providing details about the story.

Okay book

First, this book should have had a warning about the contents. Some of the story line could be a trigger for some individuals. Second the male announcer sometimes sounds robotic. Third, the story itself is very slow at times. Some of the info is repeated several times and slows the story. Since I am listening to the book while I am walking, it is a good distraction. I think if I was reading the book, I probably would have skipped several sections.

Ugh not romance

I don't mind these types of stories but this series is kind of blah! 1 the leading lady was an idiot. 2 too much of the story was flash backs inside of telling the reader everything at once or quickly. mostly I felt like the story was just written to make the story longer.

Trigger Alert!! Rape, slavery and abuse!!

The most agonising story I ever tried to listen. Most of the past chapters are the description of rape, abuse, human traffic, and the list goes on.

Seriously, I had to skip all the chapters reveling her past. Although the present story is a interesting one, I don't think it was necessary to the description of the past to be so argh, I don't even have words to discribe it.

I was animated after the first book. I did know she had suffered, but I wouldn't have started this one if I knew how much she went through would be described.

Hell, they rape pregnant women, slaved and sold. I'm completely nauseated.

My Opinion

While the story is strong the performer's are terrible. Buy the book instead. It would be more enjoyable

Such an Exciting Listen

I am speechless. My reaction to this book is the equivalent of what I felt when Captain America picked up Thor's hammer in Endgame. The second what was happening clicked into place and I was jumping up and down shouting out the twist until it was finally revealed was so thrilling, exciting, and amazing. Its been a long time since a book really threw me off like that and just smacked me in the face with that twist. Just all around amazing. I also liked getting the chapters where we find out exactly what happened with Madeline seventeen years ago as well. Just loved everything about this book as it kind of felt like a race to get to Ruby.

I still feel the same about the narration as I did in the first book. Really love Savannah Peachwood and she is fantastic as Madeline. Still don't know how I feel about Noah Levine.

Stunned speechless

Maddie and Patrick’s captivating story continued on in Flame . I was once again stunned speechless with the intricate weaving of the unexpected plot and intertwined characters in the Sparrow Web. The mystery of Maddie’s disappearance seventeen years ago was revealed with vivid flashbacks that were carefully placed within the story. My heart ached for the Maddie and I felt awful knowing what she’d been through. In the present, I was excited and thrilled to follow Patrick in his quest to fight and protect what he has lost and I admired the strength and resilience Maddie showed when facing the devil. More important players were introduced as the story proceed and more unanswered questions, secrets and betrayal were revealed. The story ended with the shocking disclosure of Maddie true parentage and it added another twist to this complicated web. I’m so eager to get all the answers in Ashes, the last installment.

Fantastic!

The Web Of Desire Trilogy is FANTASTIC! Patrick and Maddie’s story is one of heartbreak, survival, and revenge. There’s plenty of ‘edge of your seat’ suspense as well as some truly shocking twists and turns! And of course there’s more Sterling Sparrow! I highly recommend this and all of the previous brilliant Web Series’.
