Publisher's summary

One body. Five minds. One killer.

The Earth's growing population has finally been controlled. Lifespans are limited to 80 years, except for those who make an extreme choice: to become a commune. Five minds sharing one body, living for four hours at a time. But with a combined lifespan of nearly 150 years.

Alex, Kate, Sierra, Ben and Mike are a commune. They have already spent 25 years together, arguing, reconciling, alliances shifting and re-forming. They travel to a Death Park where games are played in which extra lifespan can be gambled like money. The plan is to win time to upgrade their next host body. But then Kate accepts a dangerous offer and one of them disappears.

Someone is trying to kill off members of the commune. Is one of them responsible? Or is someone else playing a deadly game? It's hard enough to catch a murderer. It's almost impossible when you might be sharing a body with them....

This brilliant murder mystery blends classic crime with speculative fiction in a stunning debut.

Interesting and fun debut

Per usual, Joe Jameson does a phenomenal job narrating. His range for different accents, genders, and personalities made this book, with it's multiple POV characters, entertaining and easy to follow.
The book is an interesting concept that is handled extremely well. The flashbacks are nicely timed so as to not bog down the narrative. With 5 distinct main characters in the same body, the author easily built and maintained each individual personality quickly and thoroughly. The ending was somewhat predictable, but the build up to that end was a fun ride.

Must listen!

At first I wasn't sure if i would like it . Before I knew it I was sucked in! I listened all day until 3:30 am.
The narration was outstanding. Distinct voices for each character. I will definitely listen to this author and narrator again.

Very Fun and Original

I usually don’t read sci-fi but I came across this book on twitter and it had gotten great UK reviews so I followed the author and waited for it to come available on Audible. I really enjoyed it.

It took some time to get into it but it was such an original concept that I stayed with it and it was worth it. It’s crazy and complicated and fun. The reader is terrific.
