This is a vintage SciFi/fantasy tale, written a long time ago, from a simpler time. Before twitter, facebook, social media, and life on the web. The story was written by the publisher's father, the year the publisher was born. The father had written the story in honor of his two children, but before he had a chance to publish it, their father had died. Years later, while going through some things, the son would discover the manuscript his father had written, never even knowing it existed. He took it upon himself to complete his father's endeavor by converting the book into a digital format and publishing it to be shared with the world. While the story is from another time, this may also be the reason people might find it relaxing in a back to the future kind of way. People looking to regain the nostalgia and feeling of the way things used to be. Just to go back to a time when stories were written based on the reality of a different world. With that, we give you.... Firkin of Gnar... While on a hunting trip, Firkin witnessed strange events in the sky prompting him to return home to his village. Arriving only to learn that it was the end of his entire world as he knew it. In deep depression and confusion, he wanders the wastes and wilderness while evading some kind of monstrous entity, searching for signs of any other life. His only friend, his trusty Gnar to keep him company. Unbeknownst to Firkin, three other survivors are also roaming the wilderness. One, a young girl on the cusp of womanhood, had left her family that day in anger, wishing to never see them again. She got her wish, and is now battling her own guilt while taking care of two small children who had also survived the so called "advent". In a primitive world, the group will have to endure their worst nightmares, while trying to keep hope. Just when things seem their worst, along comes Henry Copperfield. A law enforcement official who will do everything in his power to set things right.
