In his mid-20s, Jimmy was bored, boring, unfulfilled and underachieving. He wasn't exactly depressed, but he was very sad. Think of a baby owl whose mum has recently died in a windmill accident. Story
James Acaster wakes up heartbroken and alone in New York, his relationship over, a day of disastrous meetings leading him to wonder if comedy is really what he wants to be doing anymore. A constant comfort in James' life has been music, but he's not listened to anything new for a very long time. Idly browsing 'best of the year' lists, it dawns on him that 2016 may have been a grim year for a lot of reasons, but that it seemed to be an iconic year for music. And so begins a life-changing musical odyssey, as James finds himself desperately seeking solace in the music of 2016....

I have spent my entire adult life getting things the way I want them and all I want now is someone to give it all up for.’ Jon Richardson. Is your filing faultless? The familiar call of the common cuckoo, "cuck-oo", has been a harbinger of spring ever since our ancestors walked out of Africa many thousands of years ago. However, for naturalist and scientist Nick Davies, the call is an invitation to solve an enduring puzzle: How does the cuckoo get away with laying its eggs in the nests of other birds and tricking them into raising young cuckoos rather than their own offspring?

Over the course of a 30-year career, Eddie Izzard has proven himself to be a creative chameleon, inhabiting the stage and film and television screens with an unbelievable fervor. Born in Yemen and raised in Ireland, Wales, and postwar England, he lost his mother at the age of six. In his teens he dropped out of university and took to the streets of London as part of a two-man escape act; when his partner went on vacation, Izzard kept busy by inventing a one-man act, and thus a career was ignited.

Why is every film or tv programme a sequel or a remake? Why are people so f***ing hung up about swearing? Why do the asterisks in that sentence make it okay? Why do so many people want to stop other people doing things, and how can they be stopped from stopping them? These and many other questions trouble David Mitchell. Join him on a tour of the absurdities of modern life - from Ryanair to Richard III, Downton Abbey to phone etiquette, UKIP to hot dogs made of cats.

Publisher's Summary
You’ll already know Greg Davies as Mr Gilbert, the psychotic Head of Sixth Form in 'The In-betweeners' (Channel 4) and 'The In-betweeners Movie', and as the most out-of-shape member of 'We Are Klang' (BBC Three).‘Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog’ is Greg’s hotly anticipated debut stand-up show. A critically lauded sell-out smash hit at the Edinburgh festival where it picked up a prestigious nomination for the Foster’s Comedy Award (formerly the Perrier) followed by a 100+ date, twice extended national tour. By spending months packing this show with hilarious content whilst simultaneously paying no attention to his diet or fitness levels Greg has ensured you're about to buy a show that is funny for the right and wrong reasons. Greg Davies has also appeared on 'Live at The Apollo', 'Have I Got News for You', and 'Ask Rhod Gilbert' (BBC One), 'Mock The Week', 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' and Frank Skinner’s 'Opinionated' (BBC Two), and '8 Out of 10 Cats' (Channel 4).

Continuous hilarity !!!!!
Never have I been so amused by anyone in my life. Greg reminiscing of his school days so matched the experiences of most pupils living through the 70/80s....the nick name section ....flippin excellent and bang on....he dragged up memories that I truely thought I'd forgotten....oh yes even in Norfolk schools a similar phrase of Chinny Reckon!!! did the rounds for many a term. Pure brilliance from start to finish. ....the cheeseballs situation. ..genius. would travel and travel to be entertained in this fashion and wish I'd seen the live show.
