Publisher's summary

Years ago, the skies ripped open and the world was destroyed in fire and ash. Dragons - once creatures of legend - are the enemy. Vicious and unpredictable, they rule the skies of the ruined cities, forcing humanity to huddle behind barricades for safety.

Claudia's a survivor. She scrapes by as best as she can in a hard, dangerous world. When she runs afoul of the law, she's left as bait in dragon territory. She only has one chance to survive - to somehow tame a dragon and get it to obey her.

Except the dragon that finds her is as wild and brutal as any other...and he's not interested in obeying. What he is interested in is a mate.

Contains mature themes.

Really Great Read!

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with everyone else in this series. And I wonder if any other world's will be explored. I enjoyed the characters but I didn't get much of Kyle talking. would've liked more of that. it took me a minute to get used to the male voice though. still, it was pretty great!

Beautiful Story

I loved the story, but I would have loved it even more if the character Kyle played by Jeremy York expressed himself as much as Claudia character within the story. Jeremy York does an excellent job with conveying the drakoni's thought to the listener. I was a little let down because Claudia has no clue about the concept of mating and she is in the heart of Texas. Also humans are always seeking answers and yet the humans in this story did not have a clue about what can cause animals to lose control. I still loved it because of how sweet and caring Kyle remains eventhough Claudia struggles through confusion, possible loss and fear. Beautiful story!🤗😉😍

Karl and Claudia

**SPOILER ALERT**
Easy read. I really enjoyed this book, although at one point I did get tired of Claudia's back and forth emotional reaction to Kael, I totally understand the thought process.

Here, Claudia, her sister and her best friend are trying to survive in a post apocalyptic world where dragons began falling out of the skies. Why did they randomly show up, the world may never know. Anywho, Claudia is trying to scavenge like most post apocalyptic characters do, and she is captured. Her punishment for breaking the rules is that she is thrown to the wolves...or should I say dragons?

At this point in time we meet our Male main character, Kael, all gold and dragon shifter sexiness. While most of the story is told from Claudia's point of view, we do get a couple of sections where we get to hear from him I only wish I got to hear more.

In the end there is a battle, and Claudia and Kael have through their feelings and for them.

I enjoyed reading this book, I may be continuing the series.

Love Ruby Dixon

I like the story, love Ruby Dixon, but it repeated a lot, like a lot. It could have been about an hour shorter and missed nothing.

Not A Favorite

OK, I've Kindle read numerous Ruby Dixon books, with this being the first (and probably the last) Audible. I found the ones I read to be quick and easy "fillers", you know, the reads to let the noggin rest after a book or three that demanded intense attention to detail. With this Audible it was a combination of elements that turned me off; Jeremy York's Dragon voice being a big one. I also found that listening to the dialog rather than reading it, made it seem more...what's the word...childish. What can I say...I didn't like this book.
