Publisher's summary

Just like Rapunzel from the fairy tales, dreamy, romantic Amy lives a hidden life. She's kept locked away in a tower for her own safety, with her sister as protector. Amy knows it's for her own good. If a dragon catches her scent, she'll be carried away and forced to become a drakoni's mate. But Amy has a secret that she desperately wants to be stolen. She would love to be rescued from her life of idleness and the thought of a devoted drakoni male charging in and saving her from her boredom sounds perfect to her.

Of course, she wants a romantic, loving male who will adore her. What she gets is Rast. He's not kind. Not romantic. Definitely not gentle. But he is utterly and completely obsessed with Amy and he'll stop at nothing to make the delicate female his. Contains mature themes.

Good read!

Of the dragon series, I think this is my first or second favorite after sasha’s! There’s a lot of pain in this post apocalyptic world, so sometimes the male violence gets too much for me, but the focus on Amy’s relationship was very welcome!

Very Enjoyable and Great Addition

I wasn't sure at first how I thought I'd feel about this book. But boy am I glad I got. I really enjoyed it! Both Amy and Rask are great characters having each flaws that anyone can relate to. The narrator's did an amazing job as per usual these pair up so wonderfully. Great job Ruby Dixon!

Anxiously awaiting the next one!

Been waiting for this book since January. I cannot wait for the next one. I have so many questions. Who's book is next? What happens to the previous characters how is the subplot of the draconian world going to tie in and come to a head? (Snicker) Not just riveting for the sex and romance. I'll be waiting with baited breath for the next audiobook!

Clif hanger- booo

I felt like the book dropped off right when we were going to find out who the mate was for the dragon that they were trying to keep away from the fort. kind of a letdown. it makes me wonder more about the future and I hope the dragons all get together that are now saying and tried to help the other dragons find m a t e s.

How to Train Your Dragon - A Bug’s Life

So we know the drill by now, right?

Girl meets dragon.

Misunderstandings.

Lots of sex and isolation.

They fall in love.

They battle something together.

The end.

Why do I love these so much?!? There’s a certain lack of real angst that is sort of refreshing. The definition of pure escapism.
It’s the small differences in personalities and conflict that keeps me reading I guess.

In this book we do have Amy coming into her own and becoming a bad ass in her own right. Is it because of her know-it-all and slightly overbearing dragon? Yeah. But who cares? It’s still fun to see! And Rast is a bit different too. He... rolls over a bit less readily. He’s a bit more gruff. More set in his ways. You get the impression he’s maybe older and more experienced than our past dragons, less open to experimenting. He’s just as devoted to Amy though and it’s like a breath of fresh are when she “escapes” her loving sister and her mate and into the arms of, well not her Prince Charming dragon but Rast.
By the time Amy and Rast get to Port Shreveport they are closely bonded and shagging like bunnies. The situation there is “ A Bug’s Life” with Amy and Rast playing the circus bugs and giant terrifying robin... but not fake. Did I lose you? Ah well. Go read, if you enjoyed the others you’ll love this too!
