Publisher's summary

Growing up in a small Northern Arizona town, Faith Cloudfoot's life was spent playing in the forests surrounding her house under the protective eyes of her father, and learning about the legends of her Native American heritage. Yearning for more out of her life, she moves to Phoenix, Arizona at the age of twenty-three where she is kidnapped and almost killed.

Rayner has a special ability, one that weighs on him like a curse. He can see spirits trapped in between life and their final resting place. Because he can't do much to help them, he studiously ignores them. He concentrates, instead, on working with his fellow warriors to right the wrongs caused by the evil criminals from his home planet.

When Rayner sees Faith in her spirit form while investigating a lead in Phoenix, his attraction to her is immediate, yet he follows his own personal code and ignores her cry for attention. When he realizes that she may be a stepping stone to getting him home to his own universe, he engages Faith and begins to use her as a means to an end: going home.

As the attraction grows stronger, Rayner finds himself breaking all sorts of self-set rules, as well as the code of ethics set by him and his fellow warriors. When Faith nears death, Rayner realizes that he must do everything in his power to save her, because if he doesn't, he may just lose himself.

Finding My Faith is another great book in this series. The narration is very good and the plot pulls you in from the very beginning. I love the way the characters interact with each other. I look forward to more books from Carly Fall.

Really Enjoyed This One

I think I liked book 2 better then book one. If you like paranormal romance, then you will like this series about the alien warriors finding their true loves here on earth while searching for others of their race here to commit horrible crimes. For a book with so much death, it was still a light read with most of the heavy stuff glossed over or resolved in a few pages. It has some mystery to it and left some questions to be answered in the next book. This one won't be for everyone, but really liked it.

3.5 AS I'M ON THE FENCE WITH THIS ONE

Six elite Warriors from the Planet SR44 came to Earth in search of 12 evil Colonists who broke free from their prison and 200 years later they're still searching but now they're fighting the descendants too. Each Warrior has a unique special ability and, at night, coloured glowing eyes and, in this book, Rayner's ability is that he sees the souls of people who are near to death and, on this present mission of finding a kidnapper and his victims, he stumbles across Faith's soul and is instantly attracted to her but she's close to death and is one of the victims.

Rayner's a kind gentle Alpha Warrior who longs to go home to SR44 and has always done his duty but he's never really allowed himself to enjoy Earth and doesn't think his ability is any good because it takes a complicated ritual of finding the person's body, some sacred words being said and love. Impossible right.... wrong so he, and his team mates, frantically try to piece clues together in order to catch the kidnapper and find Faith's body before her soul moves on or the kidnapper decides to murder again but the clock's ticking and Faith's soul is fading.

Faith is a strong, independent, beautiful Native American with red hair and there's a Navajo Legend about her and, as Rayner spends time with her soul trying to find her body, they both feel the chemistry, sexual attraction and the ease of mutual common interests but Rayner is not into an inter-planetary relationship that would stop him getting home.

Worth a credit? It's an enjoyable, tense and well described Sci-Fi love story that has a bit of humor, suspense, action, kidnapping, murder, interesting secondary characters, an evil Colonist, tragedy and a denied love as tortured Rayner fights his feelings right up to the bitter-sweet end. But I felt the romance was missing along with passion and sex which only briefly happened at the end.... so YES it's an exciting creditworthy addition to this new series and the H/H slowly fell in love, but I'm afraid it didn't leave me with that 'feel-good' factor.

Ruined by Narrator

Any additional comments?

I just loved the first book in this series (The Light Within Me) so was excited to listen to this book. I can't finished it as the narrator is so bad. Very disappointing. :(

Rayner is no Noah from book 1, but still manages to hold is own. Faith is Native American with flaming red hair. She is on her own in the big city until a Colonist strikes and Rayner sees Faith in her spirit form. I have to commend the author on Rayner and Faith’s unique relationship within the first half of the book. As their chemistry progressed Rayner fights his attraction and feelings because of his SR44 form, and Faith is frustrated with the wall he has built. The author teases the reader with their ongoing intimacy as that is one of the reasons Rayner battles to keep his SR44 form...
