Publisher's Summary

Needing a change of scene, Griffin Burke moves from Brisbane to Coolum Beach to start a new job. The beautiful white sand, aqua-colored ocean, blue skies, and summer breezes are everything he longs for. What he finds is a mud-covered dog, lost and hungry, with a name tag and a phone number.

Dane Hughes is stuck in Surfers Paradise at a week-long work conference when he gets a phone call from his distraught mother. His dog, his fur baby, Wicket, has run away. Unable to leave and feeling helpless and miserable, he gets a text from a guy. "I think I found your dog..."

Griffin and Dane start talking, and Griffin agrees to look after Wicket until Dane can collect him. With a few days left before his new job starts, Griffin takes Wicket on some coastal adventures and sends Dane photos of their fun, and so the start of something new and kind of wonderful begins.

Griffin might have moved to Coolum in search of a new life, but what he finds is so much more. What he gets to keep just might take some four-legged help.

Contains mature themes.

Adorable, sweet and perfect!

Finders Keepers is the epitome of a cutesy and fluffy book. Though It doesn’t feel shallow or simple. It’s straightforward without any added drama. It’s also really perfect from beginning to end.

Finders Keepers is a love story through and through. The love between a man and his dog. The love between two men and the love they have for the new shared dog. The friendship with Griffin’s seventy-something landlady and her lover K, and I have to say I’m a huge fan of those two, hilarious doesn’t begin to cover it.

If there is a better (or at least cuter) meet cute than the one between Dane and Griffin you have to look pretty hard. I mean the perfect man finds and rescues your perfect runaway furbaby, and spoils said furbaby rotten. Things don’t get better than that. Ever since that first phone call where Griffin tells Dane he found Wicket safe and sound, well dirty and tired but safe, there was this instant connection between them, the men and their dog. Because let’s face it Wicket just found himself another human to wrap around his little paw. And I dare any listener not to become equally huge fans of his. Dane ad Griffin made sense, they had this innate understanding of each other. They were inevitable. I think that’s one of the reasons why their relationship didn’t have this insta-love vibe, because it wasn’t. They were just meant to be.

Just like Joel Leslie was meant to narrate this wonderful book. As always he did a fantastic job bringing this story and these characters to life. He does a wonderful Aussie accent and is able to keep it up though out. I love a good Aussie accent so it’s always a treat listening to his narrations.

Leslie is a great voice actor. I genuinely felt Danes distress when Wicket was missing, his desperation to go out searching for his furbaby and best friend. I wanted to be out there looking, and I’m not only across the world, but feeling the need to look for a missing dog – a fictional missing dog. But that’s the draw of Wicket – among other things 

I loved how Leslie portrayed Bernice and K. It was spot on. These two surfer hippies that loved their special brownies were just awesome. I could see them sitting there in the backyard, smoking pot and asking our two guys some fairly intimate questions. They were a wonderful addition to the story. I loved every single moment spent with them. They were colorful and fun – and Leslie gave them voices, life and sass.

Finders Keepers is a cutesy story about two men falling in love over a runaway dog, some special brownies and surfer hipsters. It’s a must read for all dog lovers and anyone looking for a fun summer read. It’s a book that will warmth your heart and soul.

Found it and keeping it

A delightfully sweet story with a wonderful narrator, whose acting is spot on, and a little ball of fluff that ends up helping to bring love to everyone he encounters. I loved all the characters in this story, especially Berniece and Kay, they were such a hoot. The romance is sweet and steamy. It’s a great read if you’re looking for something light and fun.

Nr Walker does it again.

some authors have so many books that the characters start to blend into each other, but not this author. Nr Walker delivers with a beautiful hea that makes you feel great, makes you laugh and can bring the heat in the most delicious way. Joel Leslie took the story from great to another level with his narration. I love when he adds his voice. he doesn't just read the book but puts himself into the characters and gives them more dimensions. Nr Walker, thank you for Dane and Griffins story. and of course the real star Wicket!

Excellent story!

Was on the fence about buying this, but glad that I did. A great stranger to lover story without all the angst. Well written story of how two strangers navigate the beginnings of a relationship and when is the right time to tell someone you love them.

Meet Cute with a Happy Ending

Dual POV, low angst, super sexy, meet cute romance with some humor, unforgettable characters, and a very happy ending.

Joel Leslie proves once again how versatile and talented he is with numerous character voices ranging from their 20's to 80's. I don't know how he does it without breaking his voice, but it's incredible and worth the listen just for Leslie, and the bonus is the book's really good too.

Really, Finders Keepers is just a super sweet, super cute, low angst romance with the bonus of a cute dog.

I loved Bernice and K, I loved how Dane and Griffin try to go slow, but really can’t help wanting to be with each other, but mostly I love how N.R. Walker writes about normal people and situations, and how she takes every day living and shows how romance and love can be found in anything.

Finders Keepers is a cute story with some pretty hot sex and terrific narration. Recommended!

Found a New Author

Loved...loved...loved this book. The story was heartfelt. The characters engaging, personal, and several are really funny. Who doesn't love a good story about a dog, a kind person, and love at the end of it all.

So sweet and cute!

I adored this book when it came out, so I knew this was an audio I had to have. Joel Leslie is one of my favorite narrators and he did an amazing job with Griffin, Dane and Wicked’s story! This was such a feel good story, I fell for these characters right away! This narration was perfect for my drive home from GRL and it kept me smiling the whole way. If you love a good feel good story with a lost pup, who finds his Master’s perfect match then this is the listen for you!

Lovely, touching, and dog-approved

This is just a wonderful book. I read it more than a year ago and was thrilled when it came out on audio. It’s narrated by Joel Leslie who is one of my favorites. He nailed this performance as well bringing the right touch of humor and sincerity. He took Ms. Walker’s words and painted a vivid image for me. In essence, he brought little Wicket to life.

When I wrote the review of the book, I mentioned I had once found a missing dog hanging around my building. It was raining out but he was pretty dry. I assumed his owner was around somewhere, but I couldn’t find anyone. I brought him up to my apartment and called the owner. The owner who lived more than thirty miles away. He’d only been gone a few hours and showed no signs of having been out in the elements, so he had somehow hitched a ride two towns over. He was a dear dog and I was happy to reunite him with his family, especially the two children who were missing him. We never got a clear answer about how he made it to my little corner of the world, but I’ll always be glad I was able to help out.

Fast forward to a few months ago when I had a panic of my own. It all ended well, but I was out for a drive with my dog. When I got home, she wasn’t in the car. It took me over an hour to find her several miles from home by the side of the road. Whether she jumped or slipped out of the car, I’ll never know and she’s not telling. She was no worse for wear and was, in fact, a little puzzled by my panic. Needless to say she’s now tethered at all times while in the car.

Little Wicket in this book has a harness when he’s in the car as well. He really enjoys car rides so maybe that’s how he wound up miles from home in the parking lot of a national park – hopped a ride with some unexpecting strangers. If not for Griffin, he would’ve stayed there for a long time. Griffin had a big heart and upon finding the clearly abandoned dog, he brought the little guy home, cleaned him up, and contacted the owner.

I completely relate to the panic Dane was undergoing. My dog was only lost for an hour and I thought my heart was going to break. Dane went more than twenty-four hours before hearing from Griffin that Wicket was okay. So, happy ending, right? Except Dane can’t get home and Griffin is more than happy to squire the pup around town while he gets used to his new home. I can only imagine the fun they got up to and the photos they sent to Dane. Pretty soon it becomes clear the men are bonding over more than just Wicket.

But being able to talk over the phone doesn’t mean there will be attraction in real life, right? Well, here the men hit the jackpot. There was a lot of attraction. Lots of lingering looks and strong desire to spend more time together. I love that Wicket was always included in their plans. The little matchmaker, eh?

As Dane says: being joined with him, being buried inside of him, making love to him, felt like heaven. It felt like home. Fiery and tranquility all at the same time. An all-encompassing raging storm and a peaceful summer breeze. He was everything and when he clung to me and gasped my name, he unravelled beneath me, surrounding me, he was home. I never wanted to leave.

Cute, eh? This is a nice easy romance. There are a couple of secondary characters who have their own little drama going on and I loved the septuagenarians and their shenanigans. Laced brownie, anyone? And there were no dark moments, a contrast to many of Ms. Walker’s other books. This book was joyful and upbeat. With a beautiful happy ending.

I laughed out loud several times, which I very much expect from this author. I also have to say that I love the cover – both of the audio and the ebook. So if you’re looking for something humorous, hot, and touching, this is the right book for you.

Oh, and always keep your dog tethered while she’s in the car. Safer for her and your heart.

A sweet romance.

This is my second book that I have read by N.R Walker. The first being Galaxies And Oceans.
I enjoyed the first one more because there was more drama involved that this one, which was a little too straight forward, with no tension or drama for the characters to grow through. Which, while not pleasant to read, it pulls me further into the story. This was still a nice story, and I grew to like the characters.

Fluffy and sweet

As fluffy as Wicket after his bath and just as sweet. Lovely when you’re in the mood for something heartwarming. The chemistry between the two MCs was hot but didn’t overpower the romance.

Joel Leslie knocked it out of the park with his narration, as always.
