m9dern ghost story

I lived this story. It was very easy to follow and listen to while carrying out everyday life. I wish it was read by and actual narrator because it was very monotone along with lacking the expressive parts given by narrators.

Read in one night good!!!

Plot twist and turn. Will leave you suspicious of everyone before the book is over.

Good Ghost Story Oddly Narrated

This book uses an automated voice or whatever. Like the voice setting that will read an article to you. It (mostly) did surprisingly well. There were a few little things like the voice saying "read" (reed) when it should have been "read" (red.) Nothing huge. I DEFINITELY think it would have been better if the narration was able to show appropriately voiced fear. (It was a spooky book.) Had the "narrator" been able to convey how scared the characters were, it would have added a lot to the book. It was good though. Not an easy guess & was able to maintain a decent mystery.
PLUS!!! I was really familiar with the location setting. I grew up about 35 minutes from there!

This story kept me interested

I listen to this book and the AI generated voice took some getting used to. I didn’t like it as much had having a human narrator but the story kept my interest. There were times when I questioned the main characters choices in solving this mystery but all in all it was a good story.

The AI reading was atrocious and took away from the story.

The AI reading was so robotic and it took away from the story. I was really looking forward to hearing this on my commute to work-and I was disappointed.

Nice female empowerment angle to a traditional ghost story/mystery

Like the characters and storyline. Could have done without the dateline at the beginning of each chapter, as it mostly took place in one setting. Virtual narrator was okay, but distracting in some places.

FIND THEM

I really liked the innovate writing of this author. Very compelling story.
However, it was somewhat dampened by the AI narration.
Main character was mostly ok. Some things were very mechanically heavy. It was distracting. Many of the other women ‘s “voices” were hard to discern from main character. Also, the men! Can AI not produce a decent male voice? The ones here were more feminine tan the females. I would love to listen to more but this author, but not until she uses real people for narration.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Great writing - suspense kept me listening well into the night.

Virtual Voice is a No for Me

Virtual Voice was horrible. No inflections, very robotic and no different voices for different people. Did not like it. Took over the like of the story to be honest, but I did enjoy the storyline.

Virtual Narration is awful!

The virtual narration is terrible. Almost unbearable to listen to.
The author is over descriptive in unnecessary ways and it made the story juvenile when it did not need to be.
