I used to feel totally lost when it came to money. This audiobook actually made things click for me budgeting, saving, and even starting to invest didn’t seem so intimidating anymore. It felt like someone finally explained things in a way that made sense, without talking down to me. I’ve already started tracking what I spend, and it’s weirdly satisfying. If you're a teen and want to stop feeling clueless about money, this is honestly a solid start.

I listened to this on a weekend walk, and it just clicked. It breaks down stuff like budgeting and saving without sounding like a lecture or using words that make your brain freeze. Shawn has this easygoing tone that keeps it moving and makes it feel more like a chat than a class. I do wish there was a bit more on investing, but for getting started, it’s perfect. Honestly, this should be required listening for teens or anyone who feels lost with money. I only wish I had found it sooner.

Money stuff used to feel super confusing until this book laid it all out clearly. From budgeting lunch money to understanding how credit works, every section had real examples that actually felt doable. Loved how it didn’t assume a ton of experience and didn’t talk down either. The budgeting and saving tips are already making a difference, and the investment part? Eye opening. Even learned how to avoid dumb money mistakes that most teens make. Perfect for anyone wanting to build solid money habits early, without needing to know a thing going in.

I really liked how, in the introductory chapters, Jeffrey Simmons (author), mentioned that financial terms that might sound complicated don’t actually have to be, and that they can become as familiar as the lyrics to your favorite song. This was such a smart way to look at it, because so many young people get daunted by words such as “investment vehicle, “exchange traded funds,” or “divided paying stocks,” but once they learn the basic principles, it really isn’t rocket science. So I totally loved the song lyric analogy and thought it was a great way to get on the listener demographics’ wavelength. I also really enjoyed how the author instills the mindset of “I could use my money to buy this new gadget OR perhaps I could get better returns by saving it?” Seems simple, but instilling this mindset in the next generation is what’s eventually going to make them financially free and stable - not just spending the moment they get money!

Just finished this and honestly, it should be handed out with every high school diploma. It's super beginner-friendly and explains the whole money thing—budgeting, saving, investing—in a way that actually sticks. No dry finance talk, just real tips teens can actually use. I kept thinking, “Where was this when I was 16?” If you're a teen or know one who's starting to earn or spend their own cash, this is a no-brainer. Super useful, quick listen, and totally worth it.
