Publisher's summary

Since its release in 2006, Financial Intelligence has become a favorite among managers who need a guided tour through the numbers, helping them to understand not only what the numbers really mean but also why they matter. This new, completely updated edition brings the numbers up to date and continues to teach the basics of finance to managers who need to use financial data to drive their business. It also addresses issues that have become even more important in recent years, including questions around the financial crisis and those around broader financial and accounting literacy.

Accessible, jargon-free, and filled with entertaining stories of real companies, Financial Intelligence gives nonfinancial managers the confidence to understand the nuance beyond the numbers to help bring everyday work to a new level.

You need to listen with the pdf documents

This is not an easy listening book.
You need to listen with the pdf documents at the same time. Treat this book like a lecture, by listening chapters by chapters attentively and taking notes.

I enjoyed listening to this book, it lived up to its title! If you're a non-finance person in industry, an aspiring entrepreneur, an investor or just a regular person seeking to understand the mysterious world of business accounting and what all those terms mean - this book is for you.

Great... just hang in there

Essential for management & leaders to understand. First 8 chapters include too much justification for why the book is important. After that, the stories & examples are fascinating & informative.

Good information.

Very good information. Being new to the topic it was a little difficult for me at times to keep up. A lot of new terminology for me.

Great Info, maybe not for audio only.

This book has great information for people who do not have an accounting degree, or any kind of financial training. However, it is very helpful if you are responsible for managing or overseeing any part of any operation that is supposed to have healthy financials. I believe this book might have been better if I read the hard copy instead of listening to the audio version. but I plan to buy that to accompany this as a reference in the future.

Overall provides good information

I really hate it when they don’t include the chapter titles in the audiobook like this because it makes it useless as a reference. Yes, that counts. It would’ve been five stars if it did.
