I can't quantity why I like this book
I've tried to write a review of this story before and can't put into words why I absolutely love the story the performance and for the life of me can't figure it out... But here's the thing I've listened to the three books in the series for about four times and I'm dying for the fourth book, (that by the way is a hint for the author). So I can listen to it all again.
It's a good read, take a look for your self.

Good book with much needed honesty.
Refreshing and honest take on the society of medieval times. People seeking yet another romaticized and honorable fantasy with strong female heroines should look elsewhere.
Sure, the book had more porn than is deemed "acceptable" by some, but to me it just made the world seem more real.
Definately worth a read even if the plot is somewhat predictable.

This book is like a guys mid life crisis fantasy come to life! It's the most entertaining book I've ever read! As a woman in menopause, I can honestly say that life sucks & books & fantasy rock & this wonderful universe where Hecates wizard is kicking ass taking names righting wrongs and having incredible sex is a place I'd like to land in!

Would you listen to Fimbulwinter again? Why?
yes, some may say that this book is gamer porn or some shit like that. And yea it might have to steam parts but if you look at medieval history, peoples lives where like that, and yea i wish i was the main character, more than i do the usual guy needing to go though hell to fulfill a quest or to save the world. and in the end of the book all he gets is like a kiss or some shit like that. so Great book, Loved it (NEED MORE)
